  1. Criminal charges have officially been filed. https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/arts-and-entertainment/wp/2015/12/30/ap-report-bill-cosby-charged-in-sexual-assault-case/
  2. Here's a map showing all the roads closed across Missouri due to being flooded. http://traveler.modot.org/map/
  3. Same here. We hit 70 last week, but are flooding really bad state-wide, and our high today was 32.
  4. I prefer inoculation.
  5. Antidote?
  6. We actually hit 70 last week, but it has finally started to cool back down. Tons of rain, though. I-70 in St. Charles (10-15 minutes east of St. Louis) is closed due to flooding. That's a MAJOR artery severed during one of the most traveled weekend of the year...
  7. Excellent point. I wonder if he played trumpet at gigs? The first recorded examples weren't until the mid sixties (i.e. Golden Circle) and he had Cherry with him for pretty much all the Atlantic dates, I just wonder when he started playing it in general. Either way, I'm sure you're right.
  8. Especially Miles. I think if Ornette had never picked up the trumpet, Miles wouldn't have disliked Free Jazz as much as he did.
  9. Actually slept in until 6:30 this morning, so it's already off to a rocking start! Enjoy the day, folks!
  10. I actually loved his beloowing tone from that era. BUT, playing his own music with his own group only.
  11. Nostalgia-based personal opinion.
  12. Hahahaha... If that's really true, then something went SERIOUSLY, and I mean SERIOUSLY wrong either with the format it was ripped to, or the equipment you were playing it back on. I'll rip anything you'd like to 256 AAC and play it back on an iPod with proper buds or phones, and it would absolutely crush any portable cassette and player you could produce. Because what you just essentially said is that peddling a toy car when you were a youngster was a superior experience to driving a Ferrari. Well, sure. I guess if the Ferrari had no wheels on it, and didn't start…OK.
  13. I didn't mean to imply that it's universal. Just that I think it would apply in a lot of cases.
  14. Hahaha…those cylinders had highly resolving warmth just OOZING from them! I've never heard more crisp and round playback than what I got from my Edison Concrete Phonograph.
  15. I was always a BMG guy...
  16. On how I open jewel cases?
  17. Ah, yes. I see that. I hate 30 second clips, those things drive me nuts. iTunes 1:30 clips and what Squidco offer (seemingly around the same amount of time) give you a much better opportunity to get a really decent idea what you're getting into. Oh, and I've quickly looked at both blogs. They will definitely be bookmarks on my iPad.
  18. OK, I kinda had a feeling that was going to be the case as most modern Free Jazz albums I have have little to no liner notes. Downloads it shall remain. Thanks again, gents. I'll check out the Point Of Departure blog.
  19. OK, potentially silly question: how extensive are liner notes in this particular sub genre? Being essentially brand new to it, I'm wondering if I would be better served moving back to CDs for a while so I can learn as much as possible from liner notes. Most Jazz CDs contain a wealth of information, and I learned a great deal from reading them. So is it the same with this...um..."music"?
  20. Oh, there is absolutely no question he's the team leader, and we all want him back. But most of us are realistic fans and understand how small market teams work. Not to mention we're THE smallest. Moore has done a fantastic job building this team through the farm and by signing low-priced veterans. I see no reason why he won't continue to do so, and signing a 32 y.o. player to a career contract isn't the way to do it. I also can't see his market value slipping down to our range.
  21. I don't doubt it. Gonna be 60 and sunny here for Christmas. It'll almost be like I'm back in Florida again.
  22. Like comparing Wynton Marsalis to rape, Fascism, and the Taliban? Doesn't strike me as "above the board".
  23. Electronic Dance Music. EDM is the genre, House a sub genre of it.
