  1. My goal for 2009 is to either create some music of my own, or record somebody else...or both.
  2. I'm taking a break for a bit (no money), but I'll miss the recommendations in this thread.
  3. Here's hoping that time spent with family and friends is enjoyable and the big dude in the red suit brings you musical treasures.
  4. Arriving Soon - Cannonball Adderley: One of those sessions that was just ON in every sense of the word.
  5. Miles Davis - The Cellar Door Sessions 1970 (Disc 1)
  6. The bonus tracks are actually superior to the original album, especially Stan's take on "Wave" which is gorgeous.
  7. Constantly pulling out master tapes and wearing them out for all the myriad of reissues on the market.
  8. A great cover (disappointing album).
  9. Agreed. If you suffer from insomnia, this is the perfect disc to help you on the way... I think you're both nuts. Why? Because it makes me yawn? To each their own... My intention was humorous, sorry if it didn't come off that way.

  11. I just listened to mine and it plays fine, I also purchased it when it first came out.
  12. Try playing it in your computer, if it plays fine then just rip and re-burn that disc and keep it in the same case, problem solved.
  13. Glad you had a good day Jim!
  14. Clark is easily one of my all-time favorite musicians, very few people can channel as much sheer joy into their playing. Happy Birthday Mumbles!
  15. Happy Birthday to one of the most "real" individuals I've ever had the pleasure to meet.
  16. Rusty Bryant is the MAN. One of the few jazz musicians I can think of from West Virginia.
  17. Since I live in Austin, I've decided to root for the Texans...less drama.
  18. ouy! ouy! ouy!
  19. That's a great one!
  20. R.I.P. - I must admit that I always got him and Van Heflin confused.
  21. Boy, we're a bunch of music snobs around here! I'm not a Joe Satriani "fan", but I admire his guitar playing skills and his ability to sustain a career playing instrumental rock music, which has about the same sales potential as your average jazz album.
  22. Bettie Page has passed away. http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20081212/ap_en_...bit_bettie_page
  23. I guess it was either CD Baby or emusic dragging their feet...probably digitization backlog somewhere.
  24. Why did it take that long? Just curious.
  25. Recent discovery, pretty cool stuff actually!
