  1. Seriously, should I be concerned? And who is that in your avatar? You shouldn't need to be, but I would send an email to support to verify that, just in case. Avatar is actress Amy Adams - I love redheads.
  2. Is that article available online somewhere? I'd be interested in reading that...
  3. More likely we'll hit a million and the database won't be able to handle it and pffttt... ...sorry, I'm doing troubleshooting for an IT project right now, it's making me more pessimistic than usual. Anyway, that's quite a milestone!
  4. Sorry man, I've gone through it too many times in my life...and it never gets any easier.
  5. The easiest method would be to use Foobar. Load the FLAC or OGG files into the playlist and then convert them to wav (then you have un-compressed lossless files). Once in .wav you can convert them into whatever lossy format you choose (via foobar, iTunes or whatever) or burn them to disc.
  6. http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20081105/ap_en_ot/obit_crichton Sad news, I've been a fan ever since I read The Andromeda Strain when I was 10. The man had a very interesting mind.
  7. Maybe we could blast both Jerry Jones & Al Davis into outer space? 2 guys completely ham-stringing their teams because of their presence.
  8. Well, those songs comes from the Metallica era I like the least...but if those are the tracks that jumped out then you should check out their 1991-1997 output: Metallica (aka The Black Album), Load, Re-Load & Garage Inc. (Hero Of The Day is on Load, Whiskey In The Jar is on Garage Inc.) The "real deal" however is the 80's material: Kill 'Em All, Ride The Lightning, Master Of Puppets & ...And Justice For All...but that's also alot heavier and thrashier than the songs you mentioned. You might also give their new album Death Magnetic a spin, it's kind of a cross between the 80's & 90's material.
  9. I just went and saw this tonight and I completely agree, it's easily his best film since Chasing Amy. A near-genius combination of locker room humor and a touching look at the difference sex can make between longtime friends. Rogan continues to get more likable in each film he's in...and Elizabeth Banks is slowly but surely becoming one of the most enjoyable actresses in recent memory. Her performance here is multi-layered and absolutely effortless. She has the potential to be both a huge star and a great actress. You have to hand it to Smith though, he manages to sneak in some really amazing shots without drawing too much attention to himself, and even though the film is laugh out loud funny...I left the theater with the love story resonating in my bones. (Mewes plays a different character here) ***1/2 out of ****
  10. I don't know, I think it suits the sound of the group. Anyway, there are far dumber names for rock bands out there these days.
  11. I wish I had an answer to this question, but I've spent my entire life looking for it and have yet to find it. At this point I just use air.
  12. Another Swedish "retro" band, and another good one. Elements of Blind Faith, The Band, Santana, Pink Floyd, Jethro Tull, Pentagram, etc. Sounds like it could be a lost album from 1971...in other words "I LIKE IT".
  13. I'm still pretty happy with my guitar...it's an Amp that I need.
  14. I'm sure Disney wouldn't allow that either...
  15. I guess they think it's "pro drug use" or something. But honestly, it's basically a variation on "drunk with power"...you could look at it as "high on loud music"...which of course is kind of anti-drug. Anyway, Disney are morons. It was a House Of Blues venue evidently.
  16. Hank Mobley's The Flip was also recorded overseas.
  17. High On Fire - as a band name you wouldn't really think that's TOO offensive, right? This happened last night at a gig in Orlando (from another board): Disney wouldn't let a band play because of their NAME!!!! Lame, ridiculous and somehow mildly frightening.
  18. The loudest of all keys. to clarify...all of Ted's tunes are in the key of A. (or used to be). So are most of AC/DC's songs if I remember correctly....
  19. The more I think about, I can't remember (huh?) what the loudest concert I've seen has been. Many contenders over the years. Iron Maiden, Metallica, Megadeth, Slayer, Overkill, Motorhead (who I mentioned earlier), Danzig, Soundgarden, Kreator, Destruction, Black Sabbath, Wrathchild (America), Queens Of The Stone Age, Sepultura, Ozzy, Corrosion Of Conformity, Whiplash, Anthrax, Voi Vod, Faith No More, Savatage, Forced Entry, D.R.I., High On Fire, Nuclear Assault, Exodus...many others I was either too high or drunk to remember... I had my hearing checked about a year ago, my left ear is good shape, my right ear has some hearing loss in the upper registers...amazing considering how many of these shows I went to without ear plugs.
  20. They should get together and have a party with the Seahawks.
  21. Man, I would have KILLED to have seen that show!!!!
  22. I've been curious about this group, were they any good (or could you tell over the noise?). Another recent band that's entire ethic is based on sheer VOLUME is High On Fire from Oakland..their guitarist says he doesn't play guitar he plays feedback.
  23. Motorhead @ The Ballard Firehouse around 1998...they had a PA system large enough for a theater packed into that tiny club. I thought the foundations were going to crumble.
