  1. For those who like goofy "spoof" style films...this one looks like it could be an absurdest masterpiece... IRON SKY
  2. Nope.
  3. Susanna Hoffs from The Bangles?
  4. I would be more interested in this live release if it was a concert video, I prefer having the visuals these days.
  5. New vinyl records today seem to be an even bigger risk. I've bought some LP's in the past few years and I've had to return several because they had pops throughout...then I'd get a different one and it would be near perfect. Expense doesn't seem to matter, I bought a rather pricey 45rpm set and it sounded terrible, then traded it back in and got the 33rpm version which was flawless.
  6. Storm Corrosion news... The sound of STORM CORROSION can best be described as enchanting, orchestral, ambient, epic (half the album’s tracks clock in around the 10 minute mark) and nothing short of surprising to the new ear. However, the musicians’ respective fanbases will be primed to appreciate the new output, with Wilson’s recent solo album, ‘Grace For Drowning’ and Opeth’s ‘Heritage’ having brought them to a logical place to understand STORM CORROSION. This eponymous collection is almost viewed as one side of a musical triangle. Says Wilson; “If you'd asked me three months ago about the music, I would have said, 'Expect the last thing you would expect.' But actually, now that 'Heritage' and 'Grace Of Drowning' have come out, I don't think it's going to be that much of a shock to people, because it's almost like a third part of the trilogy, in a way. If anything, it's even more orchestral, even more stripped down, even more dark, twisted and melancholic… but it certainly feels like it comes from the same place as 'Heritage' and 'Grace For Drowning', which indeed it does because it was written during the same period.” “Some of the music on this record I think is the most beautiful music I have participated on ever,” adds Åkerfeldt. “There's some magical sections on there. Musically I think we've created something earthy, a bit frightening, exhausting, profound and rather intense. All at the same time. I can safely say I don't know any other band or artist that sounds anything like STORM CORROSION. I guess that was also one of our goals, so to speak.” Full story here.... http://www.roadrunnerrecords.co.uk/page/News?news_id=117513
  7. I'm pretty sure the Packers did that at one point back in the 90's. I remember hearing an interview with Holmgren where he said he instructed his defense to let the other team hurry up and score so they would get the ball back with enough time to make a drive of their own. I knew the game was over as soon as Welker missed that catch, I looked at my friend and said "that's the play that loses the game",
  8. Supernatural - Season One Slight but enjoyable series about 2 brothers who hunt down poltergeists, wendigos and other various things that go bump in the night. Loaded with guest appearances from other genre series (Amy Acker, Jamie Ray Newman, Amber Benson, etc).
  9. The old adage about "it's how you play in the post season that counts" rings true yet again.
  10. Add an extra 10 degrees to the average temp and you have L.A. for most of the winter.
  11. That's really cool! Neat location too, I like that section of Culver City.
  12. They really don't bother me, I've learned how to ignore ads on websites.
  13. If you grew up in the 70's you watched Soul Train. R.I.P.

  18. 3-LP set (Rhino)
  19. Hell yeah! I hope he decides to make a stop in L.A. while he's here.
  20. Another boring Superbowl where I hate both teams. Joy. I might even skip it entirely this year. Since my hate for the Giants is all-consuming and the Patriots are just an annoyance...I hope the Pats absolutely DESTROY Big-Ego-Blue.
