  1. "Amboss" by Ash Ra Tempel (1970)
  2. I'd like to have heard him sit in with the Gary Burton Quartet w/Larry Coryell circa 1967. Miles and Hendrix. 'nuff said.
  3. Hank Mobley Blue Mitchell Wynton Kelly Archie Shepp Donald Byrd Stanley Turrentine Kenny Burrell Duke Pearson Johnny Griffin Pharoah Sanders Marion Brown John Patton Larry Coryell John McLaughlin Coleman Hawkins
  4. People can't drive here when it rains...I'd hate to see what would happen if it snowed.
  5. All of those storage sites like Rapidshare and Mediafire have free options available, you don't have to pay a subscription fee to use them.
  6. Hypothetically... 1. You steal $10,000 from your neighbor. 2. You take that $10,000 and deposit it in your bank account. 3. Then the Federal Govt shuts the bank down for receiving your stolen money??? Nah, didn't think it would happen that way...
  7. Hackers have taken revenge. http://gizmodo.com/5877679/anonymous-kills-department-of-justice-site-in-megaupload-revenge-strike
  8. Awesome! It's always nice to revisit a good show with someone that hasn't seen it.
  9. Shorter is a more advanced player and writer, but I generally find Mobley more enjoyable and I return to his recordings more frequently. I don't rate players any longer, I came to the conclusion that it's pointless, I like who I like because I like them.
  10. My interest in Mobley was what drew me to the old Blue Note board in the first place, he was my doorway into the label. Why? His playing connects with me, simple as that.
  11. Theoretically the team with the best running game, therefore San Fran.
  12. Was anybody really trying for "bebop greatness" in 1961? Certainly not Miles, he was always looking forward. The Blackhawk band is joyous, I love the material that Hank recorded with Miles, but in the grand scheme of things it was an intermission.
  13. Did you guys notice the opening chase sequence from Alcatraz (across the rooftops) was basically a direct lift from Hitchcock's Vertigo? The show was enjoyable enough, I was hoping for more, but it was good enough for me to keep watching.
  14. go NINERS! I literally HATE the Giants, there is no other team I would rather see get a beat down.
  15. The Packers were disgraceful today. Best game of the weekend was the 49ers/Saints.
  16. I'm not a baseball fan, but really enjoyed Moneyball. Since the focus of the movie was what goes on behind the scenes my lack of interest in the sport didn't detract from my enjoyment.
  17. Very nice!
  18. Rad!
  19. If the record labels would offer "lossless" as an option I would have completely switched a few years ago, however that doesn't seem to be a priority for them. Until they do I will continue to purchase physical discs...which never get played, they just get ripped into the computer as lossless files and then the discs sit on the shelf and collect dust.
  20. Sad news indeed. Here's hoping they caught it early enough to treat successfully. Iommi feels more like a family member than just a musician I'm a fan of.
  21. I've been avoiding that sequel, I'd like to keep my memories of the first film intact.
  22. Picked up this budget blu-ray set of the late 90's reboot Gamera films, Amazon is selling this for $7.99 right now. A fun watch for Kaiju fans.
  23. I love it, but then again I'm a fan of Holdsworth so that has alot to do with it I'm sure.
