  1. On The Moth this morning: https://themoth.org/storytellers/christian-mcbride
  2. I think that's where I taped it. (Then years later transferred onto DVD even though the tape looked like crap.)
  3. I've always presumed it was because of the number of artists from different labels who were involved.
  4. I thought it was James Booker.
  5. I used to see him at LA Duke Ellington Society meetings (where, IIRC, he would have books for sale) but I never saw this book.
  6. WE have a half dozen N-95 masks left from the fire season 2 years ago. I'm sort of embarrassed to wear one since we're told that they should be reserved for hospitals but the local hospital wouldn't take them because they weren't from an unopened box.
  7. Is it true that there was a (no longer extant) show in which Chet Baker played some Bix tunes?
  8. Given that's the basis for her article......
  9. "Otis Day was born on September 21, 1951 in Los Angeles, California, USA as DeWayne Arthur Jessie." From IMDB. I don't think he was Otis Day before Animal House but after the film came out he adopted the name.
  10. I suspect I didn't hit "submit" and then looked at the results later. Oh, well if we're all around in another month I'll try again. (I do know 2 people with the virus, one seriously ill.)
  11. Well obviously not just Downtown, then. I think I first heard about his passion for Petula from Marshall McLuhan who was a friend of Gould and with whom I was studying in Petula Clark's heyday.
  12. Uhh Not sure anymore. Sorry I'm an idiot.
  13. Don't seem to be able to. Get the results right away.
  14. It sure sounds like Ray Nance to me on number 11 (Delilah) though I don't think I've ever heard Nance with a group this modern and I have no idea who anyone else is.
  15. Probably not. Can I get back in?
  16. That's strange. I voted and said that I knew someone who was severely ill but when I checked the results it said no one had said that.
  17. Glen Gould used to like her. (Though maybe it was just Downtown.)
  18. IIRC some of the individual cds are the same as previous cd releases, others seem to be new editions (or at least I haven't seen them before) .
  19. Number 2 is 2:41 on Brown Penny. As is Twist on Primping for the Prom.
  20. That just proves that stupidity isn't genetic. My FB feed is full of ads from price gauging ads for toilet paper and masks.
  21. Tell it to Wallace Roney. Then go out and lick a subway door. My FB feed is full of ads from price gauging ads for toilet paper and masks.
  22. 2:41 but it seems to be the same as theme part 2. I found this out because checking Amazon I discovered that Primping for the Prom is available for download. And as is mentioned above both Asphalt Jungle Twist and Cop Out are on it. (Though the mix seems quite different than the Theme Part 2 on Brown Penny.) https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B0067GSBCU/ref=dm_ws_sp_ps_dp
  23. They're both on a release called Brown Penny. I think The Asphalt Jungle Twist may have been a single release of the theme.
  24. I saw him a few years ago with Geri Allen on piano. They were great.
  25. Listed as the Asphalt Jungle Twist?
