Link Not really stuff I'm interested in, but maybe some of you are. Time Life sets...I had a couple friends pushing these way back when, but never bought any. I notice some Lp's that are part of a series that look interesting. Ajaz? Jazz Heritage? Jass?

Of the later('64 forward) Crescent is one I really like. Quartet Plays gets spun now and then. I have not warmed up to Stellar Regions(puts me on edge), but it's got my favorite Coltrane cover.

I will ship them to him. I'll pack tight in a box or two and send media/book rate. These are not collectable(about $2.75 each) and my grading is accurate, so I'm not too worried about him being dissastified. The vinyl on most of these is truly mint, or I mentioned the flaws and played many of them to be sure. He's getting a good deal. Audiogon has feedback, which I assume he's putting some trust in. Never sold to this guy, but I sold batches of 10+ to 3 or 4 others with zero problems. Most buyers(and I'm one of them) only get pissed when item is not as described. On the other hand, some people fuss over anything. Hopefully, he's not one of those.

I have a nice Liberty stereo copy I do not need anymore. Cover: slight ring wear, no splits, writing or stains. Vinyl is in nice shape, superficial scuffs. Maybe, a bit of surface noise in quiet spots. Looking for a Blue Note title(vinyl) I do not have and want, that's in very good shape. PM me with what you have. Thanks

Guess who I sat next to at the Jackie McLean show

Cool. I was thinking of him last night. I was playing some Impulse vinyl re-issues from '97(I have about 15-20 of them) and thinking what a great job they did on these-sound and packaging and vinyl are top notch. Re-issue producer was Michael Cuscuna. Without a doubt, had I been seated next to him, I would have bugged him about putting out vinyl Mosaic sets again. -
Had a nice thing happen yesterday. I had 4 boxes of LP's I never played sitting in the closet for a few years. I listed them on Audiogon about 2 months ago and sold about 100-150. Yesterday a guy made an offer on the last 56 I had listed, and I took it. These were all iffy titles(Carly Simon, Michael Jackson, Heart, etc) or doubles, but in great shape. Mostly stuff I got free or paid a buck for at garage sales. I sold them for $2 to $5. A used record store would have given me a dime each. Audiogon worked great for these types of records. They do not charge anything to sell them. E-bay would have never worked. Fees would have eaten any profit. Don't worry I have still have about 2000 in my regular rotation.

Hell of a choice!! I've had the Pausa LP re-issue for about 10 years. One spin and it became one of my favorites. So smooth and tasteful it puts many to shame. I play it when I want to relax. I play "Chet" when I want to go to sleep. Big difference, but I do consider it a mellow LP. I was also very, very impressed with the recording and sound of this LP.

Yeh, right. It will be cold day in hell. Saving my pennies for: -
I asked same question months ago on a couple BB's. I believe OuttoLunch has it. From memory: stereo spred is same as originals...kind of weird. Sound is up there with originals. Hopefully, you will get a better response.

Johnny Cash...The Man Comes Around(American Recordings): Some great songs, some he shoulda left alone. Andrew Hill...Black Fire White Stripes...Elephant: Most of their stuff is on vinyl Billie Holiday...Body and Soul(MFSL Mono)

I've burned many of my LP's to CD. I then burn a copy from the first CD copy for use in the car. This keeps the master copy clean and ready for making future copies. When I buy a CD(which is not often) the first thing I do is make a copy for car use.

I'm going to place an order with Cadence. Thinking of getting a few Steeplechases, VSOP's(love the covers and can't afford originals) and others. They even have a couple Artist House and Nessa titles left. I have nothing from this label(Venus), but from what I gather it seems like a highly respected label. Cadence has a bunch of titles at $22 each and I was thinking of picking up a couple. Could not find a web site for Venus. I was wondering if they still press vinyl or if these are leftovers. I'll also contact Cadence for more info. Maybe, they can order other titles. Do you like their pressings? Quiet/noisy? Recording quality? Thanks

The Headin' South disc from the Parlan Mosaic.

I'm not sure I get your question. Why would you need two identical set-ups to A/B a CD? I don't do much A/Bing, but when I do it's through the same component. I still do the occassional LP pressing comparisons and I just play them one at a time on my turntable. I've compared a few LP burns to the commercial CD counterpart and I play them in my CD player over and over. When I A/B components I like to leave one of them in my system for 2 or 3 weeks and then switch to the other one and leave it in for a week or two. Then make my decision.

Here are a couple links to their catalog.LINK LINK

Well, it's the first I've heard of this. One of the first things I thought of was the Beatles catalog. Still a fews years off, but the outcome will be interesting. I guess movie makers will be able to afford Beatles songs for their soundtracks. Maybe, they'll be forced to lease at an affordable rate to a company that can master their catalog correctly. WTF will Nancy Sinatra have to do??? These will be flooding the USA even if it's against the law. To answer my own earlier question, I guess Blue Note and many others will have a stamp on all their ceedees and SACD's. I'm sure it will include info on source, payment of royalties, etc.. How long are the liner notes, artwork/photos and labels/logos protected?
-
This could get real confusing. Unless people are made aware of it they probably will not know what they are buying. How can the companies, that own the original tapes/liner notes/artwork and pay royalties, combat this? Seems like it get to be a real mess, real quick.
