Here's a guide to early (7000 and 7100 series) Prestige pressings. Scroll down to the bottom and there are current photos of Prestige's former address in Manhattan. https://londonjazzcollector.wordpress.com/2015/07/05/prestige-records-visual-reference-guide-to-original-pressings-v-1-0/

The statement in Wikipedia that Fantasy began the 10000 series isn't correct. Dexter Gordon's the Chase, 10010 is still clearly a Prestige issue, with Prestige Cover and dark purple label. That's the highest number I have that is clearly all Prestige. Does anyone have higher number Prestige pressings? After that, the Fantasy cover and green label prevails, as far as I can tell. One exception I've found, Boogaloo Joe Jones, Right on Brother, 10025, is a Prestige pressing (with a pale blue label), in a Fantasy cover. Many of the green label pressings are still mastered by RVG. There are lots of gems in this series. No idea why Fantasy discontinued it.

I saw Jamil Sharif in two different bands at the New Orleans Jazz Fest this year and he stood out. -
The Jazz Record Center has a blues section in the store (both LPs and CDs), so I'm surprised they won't buy blues.

Drums & SaxSunday, August 23, 2015, 6:00pm | Free and Open to the PublicJoin Musical Bridges Around the World for a Drum Story with percussionist "Tootie" Heath, joined by Rene Saenz & Richard Oppenheim on saxophone. Heath leads the legendary migration with tales of American History from New Orleans to New York. San Antonio Jazz legend Saenz, adds Latin flavor with global festival experience as a highly sought after saxophonist. Oppenheim, a Chicago native, bridges the two worlds infused with 'echoes of boogaloo, funk and rock!' Program: Portrait In Black And White Spontaneous Combustion Daahoud Hallucinations (Bud's Bubble) Inner Urge Crepescule With Nellie Speak Low Lonnie's Lament Black Narcissus This Is For Albert Shaw 'Nuff Body & Soul Bye-Ya Southwest School of Art Chapel, 300 Augusta St, San Antonio, TX 78205 Albert “Tootie” Heath Percussionist Born on May 31st 1935 in Philadelphia, Albert “Tootie” Heath was raised in a musical household as the younger brother of saxophonist Jimmy Heath and bassist Percy Heath. In pursuit of a musical career as a drummer, he moved to New York in 1957 and in a few months made his recording debut with John Coltrane for the saxophonist’s first recording “Coltrane.” Tootie Heath’s career reads like a who’s who in jazz. He has recorded with Dexter Gordon, Sonny Rollins, Nina Simone, Bobby Timmons, Yusef Lateef, Herbie Hancock, Milt Jackson, Wes Montgomery, Billy Taylor, Mal Waldron, Cedar Walton, J.J. Johnson and countless others. In 1975 together with his brothers Jimmy and Percy, Tootie formed the Heath Brothers band. A Drum Story-- a unique journey that follows the migrations of drums and rhythms from Nigerian talking drums to the innovations of jazz greats like Elvin Jones and Tony Williams. Heath’s includes music commentary on each of the diverse drum phases, such as: Batá drums, New Orleans parade music, and early big band pioneers as well as humorous and touching personal anecdotes from his experiences contributing to some of the most integral decades of jazz. Rene Saenz Jazz Saxophonist Rene Saenz is one of the most sought after saxophonists in San Antonio and around the globe. He has shared the stage with some of the top Rock, R & B ,C o u n t r y, & Latin artists in the world. Rene is a mainstay in the San Antonio music scene and has shared the stage with notable jazz artists including Count Basie, Bennie Goodman, Mel Torme, John Faddis, Eddie Daniels, Paquito De Rivera, Tito Puente, Arthur Blythe, Bob Mintzer, Randy Brecker, and many more... Whether recording in the studio or performing in concert at jazz clubs & jazz festivals, his sophisticated and thought provoking jazz style, on both saxophone and flute, continues to entertain and inspire audiences around the world. Richard Oppenheim Jazz Saxophonist After many years in New York, saxophonist Richard Oppenheim relocated to San Antonio, Texas in 2006 with his wife and longtime musical colleague, Katchie Cartwright. Oppenheim muses on ideas of belonging and unfamiliarity, of how to call where you are home. Born in Chicago in 1953, Oppenheim has played alto saxophone since age 13. Following his studies at Indiana University, he gained experience playing with the likes of Marvin Gaye, Charles Mingus and Lonnie Brooks. On relocating to New York in 1976 he recorded with Ray Anderson, Chuck Loeb, Bern Nix, Bill Goodwin and many more. From the late ’70s through ’80s he performed with Lionel Hampton, Clifford Jordan, Otis Rush, Mick Ronson, Ian Hunter, Foghat, Johnny Winter, Buddy Rich, Bernard Purdie, Jaki Byard, David Johanssen and Illinios Jacquet. -
