  18. For many years, Federal District Court Judge Jerry Buchmeyer had a very funny column in the Texas Bar Journal called et cetera which collected humorous excerpts from depositions and court testimony. As I recall, the stupidity was not exclusive to the attorneys in these columns. Here's a site that collects examples from his columns. http://www.texasbar.com/saywhat/weblog/index.html
  19. How much was it going for, if you don't mind my asking? I have no idea if it's exactly an in-demand collector's item, but, anyway, if you like this track & want a little more Sharrock or Stubblefield in your collection it's definitely worth seeking out. The lowest price used on amazon was about $5.00. I purchased a copy for about $7.00. You won't be sorry, that's a good record.
  20. I found several LPs in near perfect condition on The Haydn Society label. This label has very nice sound, at least on these circa 1953-55 albums. Uses the "NAB Curve," whatever that means.
  21. Gene Ammons--The Black Cat (Prestige, purple label). Except for two incongruous with strings cuts in the middle of each side, a fantastic record (with George Freeman on guitar, Harold Mabern, Ron Carter).
  22. I just found a copy of the Paws that Refresh recently.
  23. Pompous is a word one might associate with Stan Kenton, but Duke? Never. I really enjoy most of the suites.
  24. John Coltrane, Impressions (impulse, black and orange) Elvin Jones/Jimmy Garrison, Illumination (impulse, black and red) Oliver Nelson, The Blues and the Abstract Truth (impulse, black and red)
  25. Paul Horn--Profile of a Jazz Musician (Columbia, two eyes)
