  1. Happy belated birthday Weiz!
  2. From Seinfeld- "Hello, NEWMAN!" "Hello, Jerry!"
  3. H a P p Y b I r T h D a Y c O n N !
  4. In my new "bachelor pad" ( ) I haved a shared front door and a mail slot that will only accept single-CD packages, so I put a note on the door requesting that packages be deposited at the back door (my private door) which happens to be up one flight of stairs. Well, UPS and FEDEX didn't flinch and left the packages by the back door as requested. OTOH, USPS left a snotty note to the effect of "we don't do stairs or back doors". But they will leave a notice for you that they couldn't (or wouldn't) deliver the package, but you can go pick it up at the PO. Yippee.
  5. Sorry it slipped by without proper notice. Hope you had a great day! I don't know how old you really are- I'm inclined to think you're not 99 as detailed in your profile. Happy Birthday!
  6. Sorry I couldn't make the hang. So, I'm assuming you guys went to Arthur Bryant's. Hopefully you experienced the excellent Bryant's and not the sometimes mediocre Bryant's .
  7. I saw this film in the theatre with my dad. Best car chase ever. Mustang vs. Dodge Charger. Great "engine sounds". Lots of "cars in mid-air" shots. Also recently bought the soundtrack. Thanks for bringing memories of this great movie back!
  8. I still listen to my Gino best-of comp. I guess that's my guilty pleasure. Music from my college days....
  9. Well, I know what we're spinning at the next chat! Does Conn need a copy? Conn has the 25 CD box set. And listens to it regularly.
  10. Turned out to be a close game!
  11. I remember this one more than I'd like to admit.
  12. Actually he's playing a Conn Multivider, a device similar to a Varitone, I guess. I have the album, and I shuddered when I read that he was playing the gizmo, but the electronics do not dominate. Frank's playing is as fluid and as inventive as ever, and the notes he's actually playing are way out in front of the tones produced by the Multivider - much of the time one doesn't even notice the added tones. Caveat - apparently the actual tape was rather short, so we are given full length and edited versions of two of the tunes in order to stretch the program. Still, it's new music from one of the greatest trombonists, so I welcome it, warts and all. Multivider, of course, you're right SJ. Different than the Varitone.
  13. I haven't heard it yet, but Varitone or not it's Rosolino and I will be getting it!
  14. I heard Foster w/Joe Henderson and Ron Carter in the 80s (at the VV) and was blown away. Also, if you ever spot a copy of a Dave Liebman Artists House album called "Pendulum", snag it. Some great interactive Foster on that one. I don't think it's ever been out on CD- hopefully someday. He also plays well on the Horace "Silver and..." records. I also like his work with Hank Jones' Great Jazz Trio and the late 70s Milestone Jazz Stars band. I don't deny you your opinion, but my impressions of him have been very favorable.
  15. Watch it, conn- Indy is on stride right now. That (hopefully) will be a good game. I'll really be interested in watching the Bears visit NE on November 26th. We shall see.
  16. No, he's really finger, goldfinger. Damn cheap toilet tissue... .....plus a steady diet of circus peanuts.....
  17. THRU 11/5 This coupon has been automatically renewing for some time now. Hopefully it will keep doing so ........
  18. Does he speak in caplock?
