  2. I think this the same tune that Ray Charles did in his early Atlantic recordings. Not sure who "L" is though...
  3. Yes! Welcome back, Shrdlu! Very good to see you again.
  4. "There you go again." Welcome to the board, Greg. Seriously, thanks for answering that polarity question for MagicAlex.
  5. What's with all the hate directed at Mnytime??? He is just expressing his opinion here. When he disagrees with someone else, I don't see him resorting to any personal attacks. Mny, I really enjoy the personal stories that you share here and have shared elsewhere. Please don't let some moronic comments change what you post online. I don't see what's wrong with any of the comments of yours that Dan quoted above. ???!!!??? To be honest, I wish my parents had pushed me harder when I was a kid. I could have used some more discipline, especially when I was in my teens. Add me along with J Larsen to that potential abuser list. LOL
  6. Well, Jim, I think I'll wait until it settles and all the wrinkles are straightened out. It was not so long ago that I bought the latest dual-processor G4. I'll undoubtedly do some drooling, however. I agree. With a new processor and architecture, it's probably best to wait until the second or third revision of the machine. I remember the early G4's were rushed out, only to be replaced with machines that had a faster bus and support for more RAM. I am getting my bib ready though...
  7. The online Apple Store inadvertently posted the specs of the Power Mac G5 late Thursday. The system details came in the form of a .gif image that appeared on the store's Power Mac G4 page. The specifications are as follows: - 1.6GHz, 1.8GHz or Dual 2GHz PowerPC G5 processors - Up to 1GHz processor bus - Up to 8GB of DDR SDRAM - Fast Serial ATA hard drives - AGP 8X Pro graphics options from NVIDIA or ATI - Three PCI or PCI-X expansion slots - Three USB 2.0 ports - One FireWire 800, two FireWire 400 ports - Bluetooth & AirPort Extreme ready - Optical and analog audio in and out The new Power Mac is expected to be officially announced Monday at Steve Jobs' keynote from Apple's Worldwide Developers Conference in San Francisco. So Chris, how long until you get one of these bad boys? B)
  8. The complete Kahil El'Zabar/Ritual Trio Sound Aspects recordings. Include all 5 albums (Sacred Love, Another Kind of Groove, The Ritual, Alika Rising and Golden Sea) I can't find these records anywhere! Why did I ever sell them?!?
  9. LOL Geez...I forgot about that! Sorry to dredge up those bad memories! FWIW...I don't see Greg posting with much frequency at the Hoffman board. Plus, there are a lot of nice people there.
  10. Hey everyone, There is a nice guy over at the Steve Hoffman forums asking about RVG polarity issues. I don't know enough to comment intelligently on the topic. Would anyone care to give him a rundown? http://www.stevehoffman.tv/forums/showthre...&threadid=16982
  11. This thread gets my vote for the all-time greatest thread hijack. Seriously, some very interesting reading here. Thanks Mnytime and J Larsen!
  12. The NASCAR point system works like this: The winner of a NASCAR race pockets 175 points. From there the points given decline in five-point increments for places two through six, points awarded drop four points per driver for positions seven through 11 and three-point increments separate drivers' points for finishers in 12th place or lower. The best case scenario for Driver A (2500 first place finishes and 2500 tenth place finishes) would net him 772,500 career points. The worst case scenario for Driver B (3000 3rd place finishes) would net him 825,000 career points. Driver B wins for career points in any scenario. Plus I didn't even take in to consideration that Driver A often did not even finish some races. However, I still believe that Driver A is the better driver. It's all about the checkered flag.
  13. What Mnytime said. The object of a race is to beat the other drivers to the checkered flag. To do that 50% of the time in over 5000 races is really an accomplishment.
  14. Not me! Here is a picture of me dressed up for Halloween in 1975. B) Oh, and the jacket is a beige barracuda.
  15. Just made the cutoff! 131 I guess I do know shit from Shinola
  16. LOLOLOL Hell Yeah! You GO SS1!
  17. Congrats on the baby, Tony! My son turns 1 on the 5th of July. You'll love parenthood and won't believe how fast the time will go... Welcome back!
  18. Alright! Joe M is in the house! Now, all you have to do is zoom your avatar in to Maini's belt line.
  19. Only one word can describe last night's game 4. FUGLY!
  20. I'd like to see my friend Bill Fenohr start posting again. He's a member here, but has been busy lately.

    Rufus Harley

Anyone familiar with this guy? I just returned from a lunchtime trip to my local used vinyl shop and returned with an interesting record. Rufus Harley - A Tribute To Courage (Atlantic) Rufus Harley - Bagpipes, Flute, Soprano and Tenor Sax Oliver Collins - Piano James Glenn - Bass Billy Abner - Drums Robert Kenyatta - Conga Side One: 1. Sunny 2. A Tribute To Courage 3. Swing Low Sweet Chariot Side Two: 1. Ali 2. "X" 3. About Trane Produced by Joel Dorn and liners by Detroit's own Ed Love! I spun a couple tracks on the turntable at the shop and it really sounded pretty good for a beat up promo copy. What can you say for 6.99? I looked at allmusic.com and saw he recorded 3 or 4 records for Atlantic and one for the Ankh label. I'll give it a good listen when I pick up my turntable in a few weeks.
  22. I'm going to be on the west side of the state of Michigan at the end of this month. I'm hoping to get over to Grand Haven with my family and catch Organissimo on tour. Unfortunately, I think your gonna be in Vegas, Chuck. Otherwise, I'd like to meet you too. Maybe sometime we can have an Organissimo Board hang in Detroit or Chicago. Get a bunch of us to go to the Velvet Lounge to catch Fred or Ken.

  24. Spied a thread over at the Hoffman board and thought I'd spread the joy over here. Happy birthday Ray! I say for a present, we all pitch in and give him a new avatar. That one still creeps me out, man! All the best on your birthday.
