Blues and jazz guitarist Mickey Baker died yesterday at his home outside Toulouse, southern France. He was 87. Baker settled in France in the early '60s. He had taken part in several of the seminal rhythm and blues sessions including Joe Turner's 'Shake, Rattle and Roll'. He recorded with Ruth Brown, Big Maybelle, Ray Charles, LaVern Baker, Chuck Willis, Al Sears, Screamin' Jay Hawkins and many others...

now on to CDs 5 and 6. Have not listened to Brother Ray in too long a time! Love those Atlantic sides...

Yes, what happened to the thread? I started the thread yesterday. Sent it twice. First time was a typing error. Found out we could not eliminate threads in the new configuration. I asked how the first post could be eliminated. J.A.W. replied I should contact the moderator which I did. Now I find that the whole thing has just been wiped out. No explanation.
