  4. All it took was the mountain climb in the last 6 kilometers of the 7th stage to clear things with Bradley Wiggins taking overall charges of the Tour in the beautifully named ski station of La Planche des Belles Filles. Wonder if the Tour is already over. Wiggins will surely make good use of his Sky team to ride all the way with his yellow jersey to the final stage in Paris.

  12. Currently listening (and enjoying!) the Dragon LP DRLP137 that is supposed to have the November 23, 1959 but it's Bobby Timmons on piano, not Walter Davis! Checked with the Lee Morgan Discography that was included in the Lee Morgan book 'Delightfulee' by Jeffery McMillan. The discography correctly identifies the LP as coming from the December 1960 concert in Stockholm ------------- 1960-12-06 Art Blakey And The Jazz Messengers – Swedish Radio Broadcast Lee Morgan (tp), Wayne Shorter (ts), Bobby Timmons (p), Jymie Merritt (b), Art Blakey (ds) Konserthuset, Stockholm, Sweden, December 6, 1960 Along Came Betty (Golson) Dragon DRLP-137 Blues March (Golson) - Lester Left Down (Shorter) - The Theme (Traditional) - Moanin' (Timmons) Unissued A Night In Tunisia (Gillespie-Robin) Dragon DRLP-137 The Theme (Traditional) - Round About Midnight (Monk) Unissued The Summit (Shorter) Dragon DRLP-137 This Here (Timmons) Unissued ---------------- Now will be looking for the 1959 concert
  13. Booker Ervin 'Heavy!!!' (Prestige, green label)
  14. Those actually are two different concerts. The 1960 concert (December 6) has Bobby Timmons on piano, as opposed to Walter Davis Jr. who was filling in for the '59 tour. The 1959 concert was from November 23. They played Lester Left Town and Night in Tunisia at both concerts. Otherwise, the songs were different. It took me all these years to realize these were different concerts I have the 1959 vinyl. Will be looking for the 1960 edition! Thanks for pointing it out!
  15. The Tour has been very dull so far The first stages have been for sprinters only. Several riders are allowed to 'show off the jersey' and run ahead of the pack until the last few kilometers where the sprinters take over to the finish line. Today's stage (from Rouen to Saint-Quentin) through more flat grounds should be another one of those. TV viewers can still enjoy the countryside! And the Tour still attracts crowds along the stages. Really impressive!
  16. The Stockholm November 29, 1959 concert did not come out on Blue Note but on Dragon Dragon reissued it on CD (with the correct year!)
