  1. Oui!! She had (and still have) a lovely accent, a very slight accent... She even starred and sang in the musical comedy (with songs by Serge Gainsbourg) 'Anna':
  2. Junior Cook 'Junior's Cookin' (Jazzland/Japan)
  3. A favorite too
  4. I am a veteran of more than 40 years in the journalism field. Catching up on news stories is still part of my daily fix. Google plus Jazz led me to that story about a favorite tenor sax player.
  5. James Moody 'Feelin' It Together' (Muse)
  6. No idea! Next one is Stan Kenton...
  7. The great saxophonist Al Sears will be honored next weekend in his Macomb, Ill., hometown. Interesting story in the McDonough Voice.
  8. Not bad at all. And compares without problems to the originals. Can't remember an outstanding sound from the vast majority of the Savoy sessions.
  9. The full session is included in the Kenny Clarke box on Proper (available at good prices)
  10. Still have mine too - and the Big Reunion. Got that Big Reunion somewhere too! Now enjoying: Johnny Griffin 'The Kerry Dancers' (Riverside Japan)
  11. Thanks for the link! A damn good website
  12. Shorty Rogers 'The Complete Atlantic and EMI Jazz Recordings'; LPs 1 and 2
  13. Cootie & Rex 'The Big Challenge' (Jazztone)
  14. Kept away from the vinyls because I could not get any copy at a decent price. Now that the music is available on CD and the price is right, I am happy I stayed away. I can enjoy the playing but those two Roulette sessions do not grab me as Handy's early Columbias did!
