I like the VO talent they hired (and the spots themselves), but no, no Duluth for me. I figure if I went for overalls the next step is to eat chicken legs like the dude in My Cousin Vinny.
-
Suggestions for sources then? I already live in the boonies. On the other hand 30 extra days above 90 this season makes overalls a little unappealing.

you forgot "singing a song ... very poorly that he wrote." For the big Simon fans who are catching this last ... whatever it is ... is his voice as shot as it seems on this SNL clip or is it just that he never had the voice for this composition, and the ravages of age has rendered him Dylan-esque, and not in a good way?

MLB 2018: let the games begin!

Sox have to hope Morton is fallible and Porcello continues the pattern of righty starters doing well. There may be a chance Sale starts but if he does it sounds like he's hardly ready to be SALE again. If the Sox lose tonight there are pretty good chances they return to Fenway with David Price trying to stave off elimination. <gulp> -
I thought the Griff Night Lady was pretty hard to find in the past.

Are the Astros trying to be the Patriots of MLB? https://www.metro.us/sports/boston/metro-exclusive-astros-may-have-been-cheating-game-1-against-red-sox-0 https://mlb.nbcsports.com/2018/10/17/ap-source-indians-complain-to-mlb-about-astros-filming/ -

It looked like he went in for the bro hug and the 1B wouldn't have anything of it. Funny the Times talks about his baserunning hours before he pulled the latest BS move. If the Yankees throw the cash at him he's going to be oodles of fun with the NY media: Machado proceeded to stare at the reporter who asked the offending question for about 30 seconds, which was his way of declining to comment. -

He's running so far outside the baseline he set it up for a collision. He had to know the legs were going to meet and could have adjusted his stride to avoid it, do a little spin move off the right foot. It looked totally intentional to me. -

Just saw Machado doing his thing. I guess he'll fit right into the Yankees roster. In 1975. Do the Brewers retaliate this series or next year? -

Didn't know about the retractable roof but I would propose a requirement that unless weather is predicted to be inclement then the roof stays open. To get thru the Sox have to ride the RH starters, it seems to me. They have to keep the momentum up behind Porcello tonight and they could still end up leaning on Eovaldi in Game 7. -

It's the only hope for Sox fans to have an equalizer on the pitching staffs! -

I don't think the Brewers are as great as they've been playing but it hardly matters since its October baseball. I just think its sucks that the Cubs had it in their hands, gave it away, and that has gone a long way to help their chances since they have home field until the Series. and I will say this - two dome stadiums in the Series would suck, if its Astros vs Brewers. Pitchers licking their fingers and trying to execute pitches in the cold is what it's all about. Short-sleeves - don't think so. -

If there's a weak link in the Astros rotation its Keuchel at 12-11, 3.74 era so the Sox need to get fully untracked with the bats. After that it's Morton, and after that no one knows if Sale is even up for a rematch against Verlander that, if they win one of the first two, will determine if they go to Fenway needing to win one, or if it's do-or-die. -
Analogies don't use the term "literally," dude.

I call BS. But maybe clubs would do well to bring back the 'milk bar' area set aside for minors who want to hear the music.

Cannot happen soon enough that he becomes somebody else's headache. And Brad I have to say you were right when you opined that Kinsler is mostly done. At the time of the trade he was lacing some doubles and I figured Fenway could only help him find more of a power stroke. Instead I don't think he's hit a homer as a Red Sox and he looked overmatched, embarrassingly so, last night, and in other games against anyone with a lively fastball. He can still field, work a walk, and steal a base. But he should have trouble finding work for next season unless its as a pinch-runner and defensive replacement. So they move on to Houston but leave Sale behind in the hospital for some sort of stomach issue. Great. OTOH usually your 3 and 4 starters are the ones you worry about, but Eovaldi and Porcello are the only ones worth a shit. So maybe they send it back to Boston. -
Here's Angel and Angel with her mom Windy. We think we have a buyer for Angel but it will be tough to see her go since she's so sweet-natured.

Funny someone just sent me over the weekend a listing from the Paley Center that they have what I would think is the same, but its under the title Stars in Jazz: https://www.paleycenter.org/collection/item/?q=horace+silver&f=all&c=all&advanced=1&p=1&item=R89:0101

every disastrous thing I've predicted came true in Game 1. If Price doesn't grow a pair tonight the Champs will make the other team chumps in very short order. -
Sounds like Houston is on all tracks, too. Cool. And he's local to me - but I don't even know where he'd be able to gig in Piniellas or Hillsborough counties.
-
And Arbors sells for $10 a pop. The McKenna is already listed I wonder if they are selling before official release; the other one, which I am more intrigued by, isn't up yet. But it looks like this young trumpeter got Houston Person's Highnote studio band for his record. I'll probably get it soon, sooner if Houston is on all tracks.

I don't think there's a dollar loss there. He's got two years more as arbitration-eligible. But he's probably damaged his rep enough that he's only going to be worth a couple of low level prospects. Or watch the Rays pick him up, if the Yankees DFA him, and then he tortures them as an "opener". -

Hey things are looking up Yankee fans. Cashman said that a change of scenery would be good for Sonny Gray and good for the Yankees. Will they get one bag of balls or two, now that they've declared their intentions? Anyway, addition by subtraction, I guess. Who was that pitcher in the 80s who couldn't hack it in NY but was pretty good elsewhere? I have no memory anymore ... Ed Whitson?
