  1. Unless the producer's have declared that they are only dealing with European sources, I see no reason to dismiss out of hand the possibility of any and all Japanese TV recordings.
  2. Hasn't been a problem for me, I would wonder if any setting has been changed in your browser to delete those cookies instead of keeping them so that you will be remembered.
  3. Just checked again, and he's posted responses to the last four negs he's received - but not mine. Guess he realizes that my complaint was legit. But I noticed a frightening statistic in his feedback profile - in the last month he's gotten 284 positives and 16 negatives, an eye-popping 5+ % rate of negatives. He keeps that up, his 98.7% rate will start dropping, as it should.
  4. If the malignant tumors can be suffered by those with bad cell phone manners and/or those who drive with the cell phone stuck to their ear, I'm all for it.
  5. Here is a very entertaining profile of Jose Canseco: http://deadspin.com/372409/chasing-jose-by-pat-jordan
  6. I wonder if the Cannonball is this one:
  7. For what its worth, I don't think this guy even bothers to respond to negatives - and he keeps getting more positives such that in just a couple of days, my negative is now on the second page of feedback. Its already been replaced by a more recent bad transaction - an Emerson Lake & Palmer LP, described as "mint" but isn't even playable. What a maroon.
  8. Am I going to have to dig up the nerd photo of you from that gig?
  9. This thread looked familiar and sure enough, I see that I was the one who started it, way back when. So why is it that the thread originator doesn't display anymore on the "new posts" page? I thought that after Jim's little accident that deleted a number of accounts, old threads started by deleted users got displayed but no member name would be displayed as the starter. But I ain't left this place yet ... Maybe the database was messed up in a previous "upgrade"?
  10. YMMV and all that, but what the hell have you been smoking?
  11. The problem is that its those "other cats" who are actually marketed as "jazz" outside of the Hampton "Jazz" Festival. :bad:
  12. This is the way I read this one: Well, you can keep it then, "friend". Reminds me of the old Steve Martin line about the way to avoid being robbed: throw up on your money. "Whoops! Pass - catch you later old buddy, thanks for stopping by." As for the scam - think how much easier it is to find a sucker willing to pay $95 to get his "cheque". And $95 will probably go a long way in BENIN REPUBLIC.
  13. I don't know that they'll go "neg crazy", certainly not in the sense of giving out negs for the thrill of it. Basically all the people who have negative experiences are going to give negatives that are deserved. Its just that more of them will come out because they won't be "protecting" their own feedback rating by withholding.
  14. I only have the Big Nick LP. I ought to add that one to my list of potential BFT tracks.
  15. Are we talking three as a leader or what? I've got Soul Sisters plus the LP she did with Leo Wright and KB, and a Muse session that Nat Simpkins is on, so that is three right there. Are there any other leader or sideman appearances?
  16. I don't want to jinx anything but there seems to be a bunch of potentially devastating injuries hitting some of the better teams in the AL: Granderson is out for a month or more with a broken finger - not sure who plays CF for the Tigers but I am sure he doesn't bring the combo of speed and slugging that Granderson does. Plus the Tigers are a mess when it comes to the bullpen, due to injuries plus the presence of Todd Jones - I don't know that there is a single trustworthy arm to pitch the seventh-eighth-ninth. So that bodes well for the Tribe, imo. Then there are the Angels who are losing their top two starters for at least four weeks, with Escobar reportedly out with a torn ligament that may mean the entire season. Garland was a nice pickup from the White Sox but what exactly are you getting from him? He won't replace Lackey or Escobar as an ace, he's more of a slightly-better-than-league-average innings-eater. And Toronto has lost Rolen for 4-6 weeks. I wonder if there's any news on the state of Andy Pettitte's back.
  17. Mine either. But its still too many problem transactions for a "professional seller" to have, especially when you consider that the potential for tit-for-tat negative feedback reduces the number of negatives by an unknown percentage.
  18. Conrad, I was going to post a link to the 2007 thread to let people see those old predictions but it seemed as though there were hardly any predictions made. One I'm a little embarrassed about was that Dice would win a minimum of 18 games and be a legit Cy Young candidate. Not exactly - but he did help secure a championship so who cares? Anyway - the Braves seem to be this year's "I'm so smart I'm picking against the conventional wisdom" choice. Not to say that they don't have a legit chance but in this case I find it impossible to pick against a team with Santana stepping in for Glavine and Pedro apparently ready to pitch a full season. You may be right about the Braves lineup being less fragile and maybe in some spots better but I don't think you can make any assumptions about Glavine-Hampton-Smoltz. Smoltz will probably prove me wrong but there's no way to assume Hampton stays healthy or is effective and Glavine was on his last breaths last year. And if Glavine pitches like Steve Carlton circa 1983, the Braves are in big trouble.
  19. Exactly.
  20. My brother had a similar thought:
  21. What I really failed to appreciate is the point you make in the last paragraph. I've had my annoyances with ebay before, but it was always poorly graded LPs that I didn't pay much for in the first place, because I never pay outrageous prices for vinyl. And virtually all of those people were open to a refund or partial refund to keep me satisfied. And of course people make mistakes on grading - if they 'fess up or guarantee satisfaction, that's a seller that deserves a positive because they do care to do right. I've have twice given negatives and gotten negatives in return - I remember one was unconscionably slow on a Paypal payment, shipping like two weeks after. Can't remember what the other one did to deserve it, but both gave me negs in return. I went ahead and posted the negative feedback, now I am trying to keep an eye on my own feedback to see if he returns the favor.
  22. Had no idea there was a third album. Please report when you've listened, Andy.
  23. After two in four seasons, if it happens, I will be actively rooting for the Cubs come October.
  24. With two games in the books and Opening Night coming up Sunday, its time for people to step up with their predictions. AL: Red Sox Indians Mariners WC: Tigers NL: Mets Cubs D-Backs WC: Phillies ALCS: Red Sox over Tigers NLCS: Cubs over Mets World Series: Cubs over Red Sox
