Looking for Help to Reach Several Artists' Estates
Dan Gould replied to dsockel's topic in Discography
Linkie. They've had a number of excellent blues shows up for a while - B.B. King, Albert King and many others. If you've got a soundcard that can play and record simultaneously, you can record the stream and get a decent sounding CD out of it. -
It depends on what you're looking for: quick sale & minimal loss due to fees or maximum price possible on some items, possibly no bids on others (but still paying listing fees). Some of what I am currently selling might not get bids on ebay, or I might have to start the bids lower, and risk a lower selling price, while going the route I have, I've gotten fair prices at lower cost.

Marcus, Morganized just laid claim to the Lalama. I'll hold the others. Thanks.

List is updated with all sales that were paid for yesterday removed. For those buyers, thank you, I anticipate getting to the post office tonite to use the 24 hour kiosk, meaning that they'll actually go out first thing Tuesday.

Cliff, PM sent. All are on hold.

PMs received and list updated.

All CDs listed are in excellent, scratch-free condition. Inserts and tray cards are as well, with the understanding that three years ago I started keeping CDs in three ring binders and tray cards/inserts were bundled together and kept in boxes. It is possible that for a few of these, tray cards may have gotten a bit creased because of the rubber bands. I don't believe any will be noticeably altered, however, if a CD is placed on hold and I determine that there is an issue, I will notify the buyer and we'll go from there. UPDATED TERMS: Prices still include shipping in the US but do NOT include jewel boxes. Jewel boxes are available at $1 each. FINAL sale offer. Get them while they last. ALL CDs are now $5 each, shipped without jewel boxes. Buy FOUR and choose ONE of the CDs previously listed at $5 at no additional cost, while they last. Jewel boxes still available for $1 each. Paypal preferred, money orders accepted. Foreign shipping at cost. Chris Neville, From the Greenhouse (Evening Star) $8 (Benny Carter guests on the debut by his long-time accompanist) NOW $6 Joshua Redman, MoodSwing (Warner Brothers) $7 NOW $5 Following are digi-pak, excellent condition except where noted: Laverne Butler, Blues in the City (Maxjazz) $8 NOW $6 Darrell Grant, Twilight Stories (32 Jazz) $7 NOW $5 If we're lucky, I might have the LPs ready to list sometime before the All-Star break.

Any dog owners wanting our dinner recipe, feel free to PM. Coltrane and Gracie have really thrived on it. -
Glad to see this thread started, Papa Jo truly was a master ... and maybe now someone will jump on my rare Papa Jo CD that's for sale here.

maybe (!) this is the same problem, randy twizzle had in a recent thread... click on Options on the upper right corner of the first post in the thread; the last three options on the card that opens switch between three different display modes; "Standard" is the one you want, Linear+ or Outline is the one you currently have Thanks, Niko! -
I recently install a new Mozilla Firefox update, so I wonder if that's what is causing my current situation, which is that when I open a thread, the first post shows as normal, but below is that is a list of subsequent posts, like the once common really old BB software would show. And even weirder, if I click on a post by someone I've put on Ignore, its like it defaults to the first post in the thread, with no "click here to see this post" link. Is this weird or what? I did launch IE and discovered that the board looks perfectly normal on that browser. Did Jim do something to the board?

Arrested Development cut to 13 Episodes

The repeat they're running right now, with Earl and Randy going to Mexico, is flat out classic, from start to finish. Just hysterically funny from start to finish. -
Yeah, two major stories breaking today: LaRussa arrested on suspicion of drunk driving Couldn't happen to a nicer guy. Supposedly his car was observed stopped at a light, which went through several cycles without moving. The officer said he was initially nonresponsive, and that the car was in gear with his foot on the break. Lucky it didn't slip off while he was passed out drunk. Papelbon to return to pen as closer I'm still looking for definite confirmation, but Schilling has already posted about it on his blog so its obviously true. The positives are that he's done a great job strengthening his shoulder and I am sure that by not abusing him the way they did last year, he will both excel again, and stay healthy for the whole year. The big negative to me is that I really wanted to see what he could do as a starter. I do however believe that he will still end up in the rotation eventually. There are tremendous power arms getting ready to knock at the door, like Bryce Cox and then Daniel Bard. And there's still hope for Craig Hansen. Now, who takes his spot in the rotation? The obvious choice to me is Tavarez, who has said he prefers to start and does better pitching when it matters. He did well in September, he's got a rubber arm that can probably handle seven plus innings regularly. Best of all, he can't screw the team with a single pitch as a starter. An alternative is Kyle Snyder but I think he has the potential to be an impact arm as a set up man and I'd prefer to see him there. Two things are obvious to me though: 1) They want to bring Lester in to take this spot as soon as possible. They've really babied him in ST so far because they want to make sure he's regained his strength after the chemo treatments. 2) This makes the Red Sox more serious about pursuing Clemens. It was said that there wouldn't be room for Clemens, but with Paps in the pen, its a no-brainer that Clemens replaces Tavarez, Snyder or Lester. It helps in that pursuit to the extent that Clemens sees that his wins aren't in jeapordy by a questionable bullpen. Now, everyone can settle into roles they've performed before - Timlin, when he's ready, Donnelly, Okajima, Romero. Its up to the former starters, Piniero and Snyder, to show what they can do in short relief. Snyder, I have hopes for, Piniero has a lot to prove -though he's working on a stretch of about ten appearances without allowing a run, so maybe he's settling into a groove. obviously, they didn't feel that they could go into the season without knowing with that much uncertainty about the back end of the bullpen.

Thanks for posting this - here's hoping for continued recovery for both of them. Hank does look pretty good, Abbey not so much, as the article describes.

I haven't participated too much in these lately, but how can I miss what will surely be the ggggrrrrreeeeaaaaazzzzziiiiiieeeessssttt platters since I left cafeteria pizza behind? -
Paul, let me recommend 21st Century. My wife's family got a great deal from them (partially because two of the three dealers are 60 or older) and when our Progressive policy expired last month, we got a quote from them, and it was about $200 lower than anyone else's. Can't say what their service will be like, but the price was right. And if you go with them, feel free to mention my name as a referral - they give gift cards to any customer who brings someone new in.

Rare Tracks is on hold.

Its technical term is RickeyHendersonItis. Ricky was at the Mets training camp last week, practically begging the minor leaguers to let him sign an autograph, and was quoted as saying "its OK - Rickey will sign for you."

I don't think I've seen this here before, but here's a link to the interview: http://www.billyhartmusic.com/interview_part_3.htm And within the interview, Iverson chose not to transcribe but to just post an MP3 of the 11 minute segment Hart talked about the day Morgan died. Iverson calls it a "remarkable piece of urban folklore". http://www.billyhartmusic.com/The%20Day%20...rgan%20Died.mp3

Ironically, Ms. Cattrall has ended up on a few desert island lists herself.

Anyone else actually cook for their dogs? My wife did some research and decided commercial dog food doesn't cut it and started investigating menu ideas. For breakfast, Coltrane and Gracie get oatmeal with hard boiled eggs mixed in. For dinner, its a mix of brown rice and barley along with a sort of beef stew (stew meat, chicken, carrots, green beans, sweet potatos and zuchini). Some people told us that the food should be raw but Coltrane doesn't handle that well, so it all gets cooked. Takes about 45 minutes start to finish to chop everything up and cook the dinner stuff, and we cook enough to go about four meals. Oh, and on the advice of our vet we did add a small amount of Neutra brand dry food, because our menu wasn't giving them enough fatty oils.
