  1. I would think that the two OOP titles would be easily attainable through Amazon Marketplace.
  2. Considering how much his first quintet sounded like Miles' second quintet, I think you're off by at least five years.
  3. Best Wishes and Happy Birthday to a future Seminole.
  4. That's the one I was trying to think of, but I was stuck on the idea that it was one of the Minton's recordings.
  5. I like that "If Your Passive Aggressive" one. My wife bought her brother a t-shirt a few years ago with a quote from "Monty Python": I Fart In Your General Direction. She is currently fond of her "I don't Suffer From Insanity - I Enjoy Every Minute of It" shirt.
  6. Without a doubt the recordings at Minton's. Live at Minton's - First Set has a number of Monk compositions which probably makes it number one on my list. But the Breakfast Show, Late Show, and Midnight Show are all superior. its really tough to go wrong with Lock and Griff (although I'd definitely start with the original recordings and not worry so much about the later "reunion" dates).
  7. Matzuzaka was universally recognized as the best available pitcher on the market. Just because the posting system calls for blind bids which tend to inflate the price doesn't make the total investment a bad one. Dice-K should have received some of that bid but compared to what some pitchers have made in this off-season, its not a bad deal. Unless, and against all odds, he does turn out to be a bust. As far as the rest of your rant: the payroll of the Red Sox and Yankees are based on the revenues those teams generate. Maybe if more people supported your favorite team, they could afford a payroll closer to the leaders. No one held a gun to the Cubs or Giants to offer the contracts they did. And I don't know what you wouldn't like about Zito the player. yes, ESPN is a pain for charging for so many "insider" columns. But you know what? What are you really missing? Find some other columnists you like and read them if they are free. There are plenty of blogs that will give you links to those articles.
  8. It dates well back into the last century, when in winter time, baseball fans would sit around the hot stove and talk about what trades they would like to make to improve their team.
  9. Yes, the one with Arno.
  10. A perfect digital copy?!? Are these people out of their minds?! Internet streams are at best low quality with lossy compression and at worst completely shitty (like 64kbps streams that most radio stations use). That doesn't mean people won't listen, but they are certainly NOT perfect digital copies of CDs. Ridiculous. That's true, but I have a very decent sounding digital recording of Organissimo's performance on Blue Lake a year or two ago. I just ran Goldwave while the show streamed and the results are more than listenable.
  11. I can't say anything about doing it but I can tell you that Florida has a standard real estate contract that virtually all real estate agents use. If Washington has something similar, it shouldn't be difficult to hammer out an agreement. The thing is, if you are buying, what do you care if a real estate agent is involved or not? It doesn't effect your purchase price, it only effects what the seller nets out of the sale. As Chalupa says, have a good lawyer look things over. Afterwards, you may want to get advice from the seller on how to do it yourself next time, so you can save the commissions.
  12. I would dare say that here, at least 8 out of 10 drive a minimum of 85 MPH on the interstate. There are too many "racing" bikes to count.
  13. Here in south Florida, motorbikers do not respect the speed limit, which is why I mentioned 50 miles in 15 minutes. That's 200 mph, which isn't far off what they drive. They also do not use caution in zig zagging between cars, beyond the fact that doing so violates the law. But I presume that a lot of car drivers act in the very same way. Strangely in Italy, the most dangerous and idiot people drives big SUV, a means of transporting totally useless and overdimensioned for italian roads and climate condition. No, car drivers don't drive 125 mph - motorcyclists do. Car drivers don't weave in and out of stalled traffic because they can't. Motorcyclists can and do. The worst thing car drivers do is shoot down the breakdown lane to get around traffic jams, and that is pretty bad. SUV drivers are among the worst here also.

  15. Since I am a motorbiker and motorcycles are my religion, after I quitted catholic church, I friendly invite you to respect my religious believes and to avoid travelling in Europe, expecially in Rome. I am a good guy, but I don't know how my friends of the Holy Church of The Blessed Piston Rod could react at your observation. Do you zig zag in between cars and make lanes where none exist? Do you attempt to cover 50 miles in 15 minutes? If you do, you do not belong on public roads. With all due respect to your religous beliefs.
  16. Not only that but there were Marlins players who thought they saw the "gyro":
  17. I don't know if he's had a big block of supporters who probably won't give up on him soon, but it looks to me that the Indian kid is on his way out, or should be. If he makes it to the top 12, its obvious he's the new Kevin Covais/John Stevens who the teen age girls won't ever desert.
  18. Well he's having an excellent start, obviously. I thought it was funny how he put his glove to his face when Varitek came out to say something when there were runners at second and third, but apparently they managed to communicate in English. Actually, right now, I am just having fun reading the comments of so many Yankee fans on the MLB Yankee forum who seem to seriously believe that Major League hitters will "figure him out" after one or two starts (some idiot actually claimed that Hanley Ramirez already figured him out after just one at bat, because in his second at bat, he whacked a line drive through the box that Dice-K made a nice play on). I mean, how stupid can you be? Either these Yankee fans fear what he'll accomplish, or they honestly don't understand that if you throw six pitches for strikes, its pretty much impossible to "figure out" someone. Yeah, Dice K is going to get hit, and he's going to get beat. But you don't "figure out" someone like that. You beat him by hitting his mistakes, hoping he doesn't have command, and by shutting down the Sox lineup. Good luck with all that, cuz I wouldn't look for it to happen too often. I say 18+ wins, ERA under 3.50, Top 3 or better finish in Cy Young balloting.
  19. Am I planning to move to a foreign country? Or are you presuming that when I visit, I'd actually want to drive myself?
  20. It already is for the vast majority of professional players and umpires who never make it, as well as the scouts.
  21. Get out there on a motorcycle for a week, and I guarantee you'll be cured... A] Cured of what and B] Motorcyclists deserve the least amount of respect/lattitude of all the assholes who drive in south Florida. I don't know about your neck of the woods, Moose, but here they weave through stalled traffic, driving between lanes, and heaven help you if you are driving when a group of them hit I-95 to see if they can make it to Miami in 15 minutes or less in their racing bikes. All motorcycles should be banned as means of transportation on public roads.
  22. My Nero program supports 48X burning. I use 24 or 16 and have never had a problem.
  23. Thanks but its not a tech issue - I have no DVD burner. Fortunately someone has stepped up and offered to burn the DVD files for me.
  24. I have raw DVD files but no way to author a DVD. Can anyone help me out? PM or email and I'll give all details. Thanks!
