  1. "shake" is pretty tame. "lick" is not for children, though. You can get her to do a split, but I don't want to say how I found it.
  2. I'm thinking that tatoo is going to be the same keyword as "butt" but off I go to make sure!
  3. something for the girls to enjoy, I see ...
  4. Two are in. We better get more or there won't be any mystery about who is gettting what from whom.

There are a couple of Prez Conference sets that are worth hearing.
  6. Already found that through "make out with your girlfriend"
  7. Well that just opens an even bigger risk of not giving something that's desired! So .... as long as people send receipts ... maybe. I agree. Maybe the "Santa" could subtly ask the receipiant if he/she has a particular disk. Or the person could always send it back if they already have said disc. What about submitting the recipiant a list of about ten CDs so that he can let the other person know which ones he already has? The element of surprise would still be there!! How would you communicate with him while maintaining anonymity?
  8. Apparently, he thinks that such a forward thinker as Coltrane should have had a big ass flat screen television.
  9. If this has never been reissued, is there an album title associated? Is it Jam #9 or did it have a name like Tour de Force? It sounds like the tapes don't exist, so I might have to go searching for this one!
  10. When I attended Wash U. in the late '80s, Streetside had a decent jazz selection, too. I'd go to Vintage Vinyl for LPs and Streetside for CDs; I only lived about two blocks away during my first year of Graduate School.
  11. Then maybe its best to stick with an internet gift certificate under those circumstances?
  12. OK folks, here we go: To signup, post here and then send me, via PM or regular email (dangould@hotmail.com) your screen name; real name if different from your screen name, regular email address and a shipping address. Around the first week of December, I will make the Secret Santa assignments and let people know who they are shopping for. Gift guidelines: Anything goes, from personally selected items to a gift certificate at a cyberstore. Best to include receipts if you go out on a limb with something personal. Price of the gift should be in the $15-20 range. It occured to me that to preserve anonymity, folks ought to remember to put "Secret Santa" or no name at all if they are shipping the item, and if you have an email like mine and are sending an internet gift certificate, you should consider getting a yahoo or hotmail account using "Secret Santa" in your email. Just a thought! I leave it up to the individual to decide whether to open gifts on receipt, Christmas Eve, or Christmas Day . But do remember to look for the "Thanks, Secret Santa!" thread to let us know what you got and express your appreciation.
  13. Isn't it possible that borrowing the vamp was tribute, not uninspired thievery?
  14. Euclid Records, though they're most famous for their vinyl selection. http://www.euclidrecords.com If you're looking for some red meat after so much turkey, I can recommend O'Connell's for the best burgers I've ever had anywhere.
  15. I think there's confusion here ... does he want to play his stereo through the PC, or play something on the PC out through the stereo? I assumed he wants to input his stereo into the PC, maybe do some audio editing ... otherwise, what's the point of playing something on the PC out to stereo speakers? Wouldn't it be easier to burn a CD and play it?
  16. And its unlikely you need the amplifier-PC sound cards don't need a strong signal.
  17. Yeah, those are oh so easy to come by.
  18. I would have no problem doing it but would really like to participate in the exchange as I have many exciting gift ideas . I guess as the organizer, everyone involved could send a little something my way! B-) If its all the same, Mark, since I brought the whole idea up for discussion, I'd be willing to do the organizing-with no need for participants to send anything my way ... I'll catch a secret gift next year. ********* Final housekeeping issues: I think that I should send out names/addresses a bit earlier-maybe December 1 or certainly by December 7. Everyone's got things to do, and if a certain amount of "research" is needed to get ideas for gifts, things should get started sooner. Plus, there's also delivery time to consider. I think a "Thanks, Secret Santa" thread would be good, so people can tell us what they got and publicly thank their Santa. ************** Unless Mark or someone else strongly expresses their desire to run this, I'll start the Secret Santa Signup Thread in the next day or so.
  19. My answer, Paul, would be that its up to every individual Santa to pick whatever they wish ... gift certificates ... books ... whatever. In other words, no rules, other than a general guideline of $20 or less.
  20. Yes, but how well do you know everyone? Don't we all have trouble with a few people on our lists every year? Why add someone who is as likely as not you'll know less about than your average office mate, when you take jazz away? And if we're shooting for a $15 or $20 maximum, books won't exactly be easy to fit into that budget, unless its a paperback or found at a used book store.
  21. you say that like its a bad thing! Aw, hell no. They're MILFs all right! OK, I give up. I keep thinking the more I see "MILF" mentioned, the sooner it will come to me just what the hell that acronym is supposed to stand for. Please tell me, in a private mail if need be. Mothers I'd Like to (I think you can figure out the last word) I think it reached the popular culture through the movie American Pie ... now its a huge category of internet p*rn (so I've been told) ... and I read somewhere that Britney Spears was seen in a t-shirt which said, "MILF In-Training"
  22. Or, as an old boss used to say, buyers are liars!
  23. I also like JRVGs though no reversal of polarity is necessary for them to sound very nice to my ears. I know, you're thinking what? I'll leave it to others to clue you in. B-)
  24. C'mon, Jim, you don't need no stinking samples, you need the disc! BTW, are there other LeDonne organ albums I'm not aware of, or have you heard him live, or are you basing your judgement of his playing on the Scott Hamilton disc?
  25. The Rusty Bryant I mentioned above sounds very good.
