  5. Im a big fan of it might as well be spring. ike is the best
  6. Curtis/Live literally changed my life. In my opinion, it beats anything he ever did in the studio. His banter with the crowd, and the utter coolness of everything he says makes it one of my favorite records of all-time. The congas and tombas and mighty mighty spade and whitey and all that good shit it drips with soul
  7. Just want to recommend this song to everyone as I've been listening to it like crazy today. This is some serious and intense blues as only Alice C. can play it...
  8. I find that hard to believe. As most things Red Sox go, there was a collective panic when Bard let Wakefield's knuckle balls pass a few times. That is an undeniable fact. (go back and check the message boards if you like) Thus Epstein quickly and incorrectly traded two quality prospects for an aging back-up catcher who hits near the mendoza line. Any rational person can see that the Red Sox overpaid to reacquire Mirabelli's services at the time, the future records of both Bard and Meredith notwithstanding. There are plenty of articles written on this at the time from various reputable sources that share this viewpoint.
  9. thats a cool story. they should hire george clinton for the season so that whenever the mariners hit a homerun, he descends onto left field in a spaceship
  10. is a "funk blast" the seattle equivalent of a "splash hit"? Do they play bootsy collins when the mariners hit a homerun? the mirabelli for bard, meredith trade was the greatest. that is why you cant let emotions dictate baseball decisions.
  11. red sox blah blah blah . go padres! go jackie robinson! west coast baseball rules!
  12. the flaming lips are perfect for such a large venue. the black angels are pretty good. something about bob weir makes me not like him. he seems like hes sheisty, like with all the live recording and filesharing. they should invite donald byrd next year
  13. there are some decent bands playing. ornette playing really makes it worthwhile. arent the ticket prices insane?
  14. "The Silver Meter" remains one of my favorite jazz songs of all time. I consider myself fortunate to have met BJP and shaken his hand. Love live BJP and his jazz legacy!
  15. ms. longoria is quite something, isnt she. are you sure you're not listening to joey defrancesco, donaldo?
  16. BJP 4 EVA BOBBI HUMPHREY 4 EVA 2!
  17. i can honestly say that HD is not that great. I've seen it and I dont get why people shit their pants over it.
  18. i kinda hope matsuzaka is a bust. paying 50 million just to have the right to sign him is ridiculous. also ridiculous: the payroll of the red sox, yankees, curt shilling, a-rod's horrible pr instincts (this guy shoots himself in the foot time and time again,) the soriano contract (not the player,) the barry zito contract (maybe the player?) the fact that you have to pay $ to read espn baseball articles (free peter gammons) I saw tony gwynn today so awesome
  19. did anyone notice how every media outlet, newspaper, blog had something on the gyroball? bastards. i have a question. where did the expression hot stove league come from? it never sounded right to me. go padres
  20. i kinda like nowak-o. thats real devotion, 900+ miles wearing diapers. and im sure she was equally devoted to her country. maybe theres a lesson in there for the rest of us.
  21. i dont really care much for his music. kindof boring. i feel like he gets sympathy votes because hes a spokesman for jazz. i suggest listening to cannonball adderley's country preacher instead.
