Would it not make sense for all these national “societies” to pool their resources under one roof - an international Ellington society?

Here’s another video that was published yesterday:

Here is a two-part interview of NYC Hot Club’s Matthew Rivera: The second video goes into the record collection and the audio equipment (Steve “The Audiophiliac” Gutenberg being an audiophile).

I saw the restored Seven Samurai here in Paris a few months ago. Am looking forward to purchasing the High and Low DVD. I was hoping for a restored version of Dersu Uzala. There is a good quality version on YouTube, for those interested: Nothing like seeing this on a big screen however.

I saw Savion Glover at the Blue Note on my last trip to NYC two years ago: Great show, as always. Chris Dave & Weedie Braimah Duo ft. Savion Glover

Too bad this concert was never released on an album!
 -
Very nice album. Jimmy Jones and Jimmy Forest are the stars of the show, IMO.
 -
It is nice have (practically) all of it in one place. On a side note, I was listening yesterday to the July 13, 1933 recording session in London, which is not in fact in the series. What a swinging session!

	Thanks, that's unfortunate.

Will there be further volumes, or has the project been abandoned?

We also met in Paris There's a good video of a Tucker conference where he discusses "New World A Coming" before performing it on stage. It has been posted on the Swedish Duke Ellington society's web site. Well worth watching. I cannot find it anymore, it may be under a password protected section (I fail to see how a Duke Ellington fan club site could have confidential information). Here is another I just found but have not watched yet: https://ellingtongalaxy.org/2024/02/01/mark-tucker-at-ellington-87/

If Bessie Smith had reincarnated in 1971, she would have been singing with these guys. Imagine that!
