I think that marketing is sometimes more relevant to this discussion than the music. Do you remember fifteen years ago when neo-swing was briefly popular with bands like Big Bad Voodoo Daddy? That music was found in the pop section of the record store I worked in, not in the jazz section. That's a reflection of the marketing, not the music.

Wikipedia says that she permanently rented a suite at the Hotel Stanhope on Fifth Avenue, but that following Parker's death there, she was asked to leave by the hotel management and relocated to the Bolivar Hotel at 230 Central Park West.
