  1. Thanks for that, Mark!
  2. It's all too sordid for me. I haven't read any of the reports because the whole concept is disturbing. As a result, I'm out of the loop, but I think that's better for me than to read the stuff. I'm reminded of how all the sports websites had videos of Dan Wheldon's death two weeks ago. I love to see the wrecks when I know that no one is injured, but when someone is injured or killed, I want no part of that.
  3. That looks like the guy who played Bulldog on Frasier.
  4. In a surprising move, the Bombers have released Terrence-Jeffers Harris. It's an odd time to be cutting somebody. http://www.tsn.ca/cfl/story/?id=380669
  5. My third DVD plays the fifth episode only half-way though. Does anyone else have this problem? It's a pretty stupid story about a ventroloquist, and I'm not going to lose any sleep over it.
  6. Correct, Jim!
  7. Since you can't see what I see, here's another photo of her. I"m down to my last photo of her that doesn't give her name.
  8. The Astros are moving to the American League. The new owner agreed only if the sale price was dropped. $680 million is much more than I thought they were worth. Maybe the value of most of these teams depends on their deals with the ballparks. http://www.theglobeandmail.com/sports/baseball/sale-of-astros-hinged-on-switching-leagues/article2238380/

  10. The All-Star team was announced today. I'm surprised that Lulay got the nod over Calvillo. http://www.tsn.ca/cfl/story/?id=380590
  11. Guys, I think it would be more fun if you listed the artist as well. For example, I've never heard of Nation Time before.
  12. Since you can't see what I see, here's another photo of her. Is that Rhea Perlman?
  13. Here's a game I found at Amazon. We start with a word. The next player names five song titles or album titles that include the word. Then he suggests the word for the next player. I'll start. The word is LOVE. Love is Just Around the Corner - The Four Freshman I Love You - Julie London Theme from "Love Story" - Tony Bennett Like Someone in Love - John Coltrane I Wish I Were in Love Again - Frank Sinatra OK, at this point I suggest a new word for the next contestant. And the word will be BLUES.
  14. Try this.
  15. Moonlighting - Season 3 - $7.46 http://www.amazon.com/Moonlighting-Season-3-Cybill-Shepherd/dp/B000CRR3NI/ref=pd_ys_qtk_general_recs_6?pf_rd_p=1286318242&pf_rd_s=center-1&pf_rd_t=1501&pf_rd_i=home&pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_r=0J7MBQ5Q097YWRZGCG8Q
  16. Correct Valerie! Since you got Fontella Bass, who I thought was a hard one, I thought you might get Ruth Brown too!
  17. Let's see if we can't get this started up again!
  18. VB2, yes, that attendance figure in Montreal is a big surprise to me. Dave Naylor in his article above mentioned that the team probably would have made more money by playing the game at McGill and raising the ticket prices for the playoff game. Personally, I like to see players go out on top. It wouldn't bother me if Calvillo won the Most Outstanding Player Award and promptly retired.
  19. Jerome Messam is out for the year with a knee problem. It will be a big upset if the Eskimos can beat the Lions without him. http://www.tsn.ca/cfl/story/?id=380507
  20. Dave Naylor Semi-Finals wrapup http://www.tsn.ca/cfl/story/?id=380492
  21. Pogo was my Dad's favorite. I would like to see this book, and see what my dad saw in it.
  22. I see that spotify now has the new Smile release.
  23. REead the autopsy here: http://en.wikipedia....ki/Sunshine_pop I think we now have our definition. Indeed! I gather that musically the difference is that the term is for the most part limited to recordings with orchestration, which of course the beat groups didn't have. OK, I concede!
  24. Maybe we need to define our terms. I consider most of the 1964 British Invasion material sunshine pop! Particularly the Liverpool guys.
  25. Hamilton Tiger-Cats 52....Montreal Alouettes 44 http://64.246.64.33/...aspx?id=4450223 Terrific game! With the score tied at 44, the Ticats should have won it on the last play of the game, but a stupid time count violation put them out of field goal range. I meant to say this during the week, but forgot; and I realize it's easier to say after the game is played, but here's what I think. I am surprised but not shocked that the Ticats won in Montreal today. They finished 8-10, and when they won they looked like world beaters, but when they lost they stunk. I think the Ticats have the ability to beat every team in the league, but I don't think they have the ability to forge a three-game winning streak, which is what it will take for them to win the Grey Cup. By the way, a third place team wins the Grey Cup about once every ten years, and it has been about ten years since the Lions did it last, so it is time. On the other hand, an Eastern third place team hasn't won the Grey Cup since the 1970 Als. ***** Edmonton Eskimos 33....Calgary Stampeders 19 http://64.246.64.33/...aspx?id=4450282 The Eskimos were the dominant team today.
