5 Verve Mosaic boxes now available on eMusic
GA Russell replied to mjzee's topic in Mosaic and other box sets...
Chuck, considering that these are digital, not physical, do you feel that Universal could release them for a lot less and still make a good profit? -
RIP. I remember the name. I had a couple of Kevin Ayers imports. Maybe there's something on spotify that I can find.

Those prices seem high to me, though I haven't done the math. What does $37.50 work out to be per song? -
10-4, Chuck!

Hint: Today is 10/4.

I expect I'm going to need to give a hint for this one.

The Lions' overcoming 20 point deficits to win two weeks in a row has never been done before in the NFL. http://www.theglobeandmail.com/sports/football/detroit-lions-make-nfl-history-with-rallies/article2189791/

Riding a six game winning streak, the Lions have vaulted to the top of TSN's power rankings for the week. [1] B.C.: Moved up two spots after winning their sixth consecutive game[2] Montreal: Hang on to beat Bombers and hang onto No. 2 rank[3] Winnipeg: Hard-fought loss to Als costs them two spots[4] Calgary: Win ends two-game losing skid; move two spots up[5] Hamilton: Won second straight; within two of top spot in East[6] Edmonton: Slide two spots following second straight defeat[7] Saskatchewan: Two straight embarrassing performances[8] Toronto:Sixth straight loss to Ticats; playoff hopes hanging http://www.tsn.ca/cfl/story/?id=377323 ***** In the last minute of the game, the Bombers were awarded the ball on the Als' one due to a bad call of pass interference. Today the league fired the ref who made the call. http://www.tsn.ca/cfl/story/?id=377334

James Carter Organ Trio - At the Crossroads
GA Russell replied to GA Russell's topic in New Releases
I like this album. It's all over the board. There's some greasy funk, some gospel with vocals, some hard core blues. Most but not all of it would be appreciated by someone still somewhat new to jazz. Gerard Gibbs on organ does an outstanding job, though this is clearly James Carter's album. -
Unbeknownst to me, the Riders signed Jamie Boreham last month, and today they traded him to the Bombers for future considerations. http://www.tsn.ca/cfl/story/?id=377312

Montreal Alouettes 32....Winnipeg Blue Bombers 26 http://64.246.64.33/merge/tsnform.aspx?c=sportsnetwork&page=cfl/news/news.aspx?id=4440464 The Als dominated, but the Bombers came back in the late going. The game ended with the Als stopping Alex Brink twice from the one. ***** British Columbia Lions 33....Edmonton Eskimos 24 http://64.246.64.33/merge/tsnform.aspx?c=sportsnetwork&page=cfl/news/news.aspx?id=4440471 The Eskimos dominated the first half, but didn't put up much on the scoreboard to show for it. As so often happens, the team that escaped the first half came back to win the game. ***** Calgary Stampeders 40....Saskatchewan Roughriders 3 http://64.246.64.33/merge/tsnform.aspx?c=sportsnetwork&page=cfl/news/news.aspx?id=4440638 With two minutes to go in the half, the Stamps led 9-3. They scored two quick touchdowns before the break and never looked back. ***** Hamilton Tiger-Cats 27....Toronto Argonauts 12 http://64.246.64.33/merge/tsnform.aspx?c=sportsnetwork&page=cfl/news/news.aspx?id=4440677 This loss came very close to mathematically eliminating the Argos from the playoffs.

What a game! After three quarters it's Geelong 85....Collingwood 78 (13.7.85 12.6.78) Midway through the third quarter, the announcer mentioned that there had already been ten lead changes in the game. It looks like the big rain storm that was predicted isn't going to happen. The rain started, but it wasn't as bad as they had feared.
