  1. Welcome to the board Steve!
  2. It's weird, when Family Guy was first aired, I watch a few episodes and didn't really get it. But... I bought the DVDs earlier this year. Wow! I LOVE that show.
  3. Speaking of Jonny Quest, my son and I have been enjoying those sets of the ol' Hanna Barbera cartoons. My son likes Jonny Quest a lot. This week has been a marathon of Top Cat. I want to get the Wacky Racers set.
  4. Here's another belated birthday wish... I hope you had a great B-day!
  5. HAPPY belated BIRTHDAY!!!
  6. The package arrived today! I'm looking forward to joining in on the fun.
  7. I hope they use that cover for the Yesterday and Today reissue. I know a lot have taken issue with the boxset's contents being the American versions, but I'm really happy they are releasing these albums. I grew up collecting Beatles' albums from all over the world, so I'm familiar with most every version. Though the british pressings are as they intended, my first exposure to their music was through the American versions. I love the fake stereo and added reverb, and I can rest happy that these aren't the permenant catalog masters. They're just something for the Americans who grew up with this stuff. It's been fun hearing these versions again. The packaging sucks, though. I don't mind the little LP sleeves, but the main and sub-boxes are a joke (and ugly). The Beatles' main UK catalog releases are long overdue for high quality reissues. The eighties releases just don't cut it. I don't know what Apple is waiting for. Maybe they'll give our grandchildren decent upgrades.
  8. I haven't been following this thread, but I think Dr. J hit it out of the park with his last post. When I got into the Blue Note catalog, Freddie Hubbard to me was one of the greats. I didn't know what his post Blue Note recordings were like, but I thought he was incredibly fluid on his horn. I think early work is now filtered by what he has done in the subsequent decades. If he'd have left the jazz scene in 1966, he'd probably be held in much higher regard today.
  9. I hope you have a Happy Birthday!
  10. Thanks Matt!
  11. I'd like the Clarke-Boland date also. As someone who purchased the conns from the beginning and collector choice titles, I'd like to see something that hasn't been out for a long long time. Give me some Leo Parker, or Dizzy Reece's Starbright, some Three Sounds, Ike Quebec's 45 session, Jutta Hipp.... Please please please!!! I ask for just one RVG like this, the rest can be the money makers.
  12. The crew I used to work with would all drive over to Costco for lunch. It was cheap and delicious.
  13. That's really cool!
