  1. "Cool" isn't defined by what sells best, and it never has been. Jazz is immortal, like all good music.
  2. I'll take Philly tonight. Thanks for the message, vajerzy.
  3. I've never turned on any of my teams, despite the desire to. Whatever coach or player comes in, I'll support 'em until I'm inclined to support their removal from my team. Team first! Maybe Valentine will be a lighthearted shot-in-the-arm for the BoSox. Someone who will bring fun back into the clubhouse which will translate to winning on the field. It's tough to know what the chemistry will be like until one sees the team in action! It's not like Boston doesn't have players who can produce on the diamond.

  13. A fascinating part of my education concerning US History is that it ended at the outset of the Vietnam War, despite the fact that I was born in 1976. I learned nothing about the historical events from the Vietnam War to the present in public school, everything I know about it I learned voluntarily. It is not an accident. Vietnam lacks a good explanation. The assassination of JFK lacks a good explanation. Teachers lack the perspective to spin things in a good light. Current events show that the US is in a terrible state of turmoil and is reaping what it has sown during the last four decades. The foreign policies and actions of the military of my country during that time frame stand in direct contrast to the principles on which this nation was founded. The actions of our representatives stand in direct contrast to those principles. The actions of Republicans in particular stand in direct contrast to those principles. The hippies and their message of peace and love didn't win...but all the time it has been clear those people were right to challenge our government... There's something happening here, what it is ain't exactly clear. How long shall they kill our prophets, while we stand aside and look? The fascists are in control and winning.

  18. I have a 160gb iPod with close to 26,000 songs on it, and many of them have images (amounting to nearly a gigabyte of space taken up by images alone). When the iPod is connected to my MacBook Pro it can some times lag when scrolling or when selecting a track to play. Usually it amounts to a brief stall with the little spinning rainbow of death appearing on the screen momentarily. I'm not sure if the images are what causes this little hiccup, but your problem makes me wonder if that's the issue. On its own the iPod scrolls through the music and works without any delay.
