  1. I particularly enjoy Little Red's Fantasy, The Moontrane, and Rosewood. I'd love to read any fond remembrances you'd care to share, Chuck.
  2. I should have this one waiting for me at home: Nice to finally have real copies to replace my old downloads (I try to do this for any album I listen to a lot but acquired through questionable means).
  3. I have a Numark UBS turntable, and it works fine for digitizing. Not quite CD quality sound, it always seems to record at levels a little lower than I'd like. Any attempt to adjust said levels results in noise. A friend who is a DJ has pro-style turntables and a stand-alone CD burner, and his system produces a higher quality CD.
  4. I love McPhatter's "the Mixed Up Cup."
  5. I'm a sucker for Axelrodian production, and Dusty Groove reviews too.
  6. That's KC of KC & The Sunshine Band.
  7. The plans are dollar amounts now, colinmce. I'm canceling, since I can order virtually as many physical CDs as my ration of downloads will afford at this point. It was fun while it lasted.
  8. So long, Officer Hightower. 66 is too young.
  9. All-time favorite: 31 Flavors' Gold Medal Ribbon (chocolate and vanilla ice cream with a caramel swirl). Mint chip. Pralines and cream is the goods, I must agree, DJ. Some of these new concoctions are insanely good, like Moose Tracks or anything with crumbled Heath Bar.
  10. I might have known you were kidding, Jim, except I'm a little rough around the edges this morning. Did he write the Les McCann/Eddie Harris jam?
  11. Well, Eugene had some tunes I like so I thought he deserved a thread on this here music forum. I've done nothing, so I guess I'm as good as dead.
  12. Singer/songwriter Eugene McDaniels passes. I dig his stuff. RIP Eugene, and thank you.
  13. Wow, what an anomaly. Imagine the circumstances which might have led to its creation!
  14. Sounds like what the Raiders had last season in Jason Campbell, ChitownExpat. Campbell's a standup guy, very classy. He just isn't all that good.
  15. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IsGK9u5dp2g RIP, and thanks Mr. Foster.

    BFT 87 Reveal

Enjoying this BFT again today, thanks Joe. "Armageddon" is one of my favorite Wayne Shorter tunes.
  17. It's a comm0on-sense attitude like that that has prevented you from getting a gig at Collectables! Those sadistic bastards create filing NIGHTMARES. The horror! The HORROR!
  18. Damn. RIP.
  19. News flash: the Dodgers stink. EDIT: Drunk post.
  20. I can tell she's not lip syncing from the first note she sings, since I know the original recording so well. I love Aretha.
  21. If I were a praying man, I'd pray the Giants never win another game.
  22. Thanks everybody! I'm compiling a list. I think the first one I'm after is And His Mother Called Him Bill, since I have read its praises sung here in various threads.
  23. I have that compilation. Good stuff. RIP, Mr. Ragogoy.
  24. Thanks Guy!
