    Monorails and Satellites is one of the best solo piano recordings I've recently listened to. Sun Ra was not only a band leader, but first and foremost a pianist. After listening to this recording I am convinced he belongs to the same league with all the great pianists of the jazz history.

    Autumn is already here. Not too hot and not too humid as it used to be two months ago, but still not too cold. It is a very good time to spend on the beach.

    This is my favorite among his trio recordings: The Newborn Touch. With Leroy Vinnegar and Frank Butler, Newborn interprets composions by Benny Carter, Ornette, Russ freemen, Hampton Hawes and many others. Great trio and a killer pianist.
