I really like his recording for ESP (Pharoah's First). Another good reason to listen to it is the person who seats on the pianist chair: Jane Getz. Her playing is very impressive but unfortunately there are not enough recordings of this talented pianist.

I've ordered it already. As soon as I'll have it (probably this week) I'll let you know my impressions.

My friend Barak Weiss (White Lightening) had the opportunity to interview Lateef and I'll ask him to reply to this thread and to add the link to the interview.

Last week Lateef played in Tel-Aviv together with the French players- Stephan and Lionel Belmondo. Lateef is 86 but he is in a very good shape and still sounds great. This was the first time for to see Lateef and of course it was a memorable experience.

The session Andrew Hill recorded with Henderson and Hubbard was part of the OOP Mosaic set and this is something every Hill fan must have in his collection.

You are not the only one tranemonk. In general, I tend to agree with you. But if the Mosaic set is the only Rich material you are familiar with, I think you should listen to some of his big band recordings. Try the Pacific Jazz sessions. I believe you will enjoy it. This one is great:
