  1. Will buy or trade. petezwief@gdinet.com
  2. Well Sunnyside is supposedly the label that issued all the Jazz in Paris discs. At least that's what they tell me and I'm not arguing since they agreed to replace the missing disc. Barnes & Noble lists Sunnside as the label. See http://music.barnesandnoble.com/search/pro...2-2004+19:06:10
  3. I sent an email to sunnyside@attglobal.net. I got a response the same day, asking for my address so they could mail a replacement. Said it would take a few weeks.
  4. I was most dissappointed when I openned my copy of Donald Byrd Quintet Parisian Thoroughfare to find that it instead contained the disc to Henri Crolla & Co Notre ami Django.
  5. This was panned by AllMusicGuide. Have you heard it? Do you like it?
  6. Thanks for the info. It's not easy being a completist, is it!
  7. In regards to the great debate 75 or 76 discs, there are indeed 75. Although there is a disc numbered 76, there is no disc No. 8 in the box.
  8. Thanks to Deus62, who hipped me to a set on ebay.de, I also acquired the 75 disc box for 199e (plus 40e shipping) or $301. A great price on what is, based on the 1st 4 discs, a great box. I've not seen the new 25 disc box anywhere? Can anyone out there suggest a source? Thanks.

    Stan Getz

My favorite Getz bosa nova is the 1st one, with Charlie Byrd.
  10. Based on the above postings, and having more than enough Aebi in my collection, I passed on Beat Suite and picked up Work. I agree that Work is, indeed, outstanding.
  11. I've got the Albert Ammons and Meade Lux Lewis, and Black Lion Vogue Monk. However, while all of these Mosaics are out of print, the Nichols is available in a Blue Note box, while the Ammons/Lewis & Monk are not so readily available. Plus the Mosaic Nichols CDs suffered from pin holes in the disc, so the blue note version is probably better in that regard. In short, would you be interested in buying the Ammons/Lewis &/or Monk? If so, make an offer. Thanks. petezwief@gdinet.com
  12. I'm in the market for both of the Jazz in Paris boxes. If anyone knows a cheap source or has one for sale, please email me at petezwief@gdinet.com. Thanks.
  13. Brandford Marsalis - Bloomfield.

  15. Mine just came, and I have to make one comment right away. I'm a little disappointed in the cardboard sleaves for the discs because I don't think they adequately protect the discs.
  16. I'm with Sal. These guys knock me out!

  18. Maybe I'll change my nickname to moldy fig!
  19. IMHO this is crap. The goal seems to be to play the same mindless patterns over and over as fast as they can. This is the stuff that killed jazz until the 1980s and the young lions (Wynton, et al ). No ofense meant to those who like it, and I certainly won't be offended by those who take issue with my opinion.
  20. I've got a copy of the 10 disc Cecil Taylor Feel Trio Codanza Box entitled "2Ts for a Lovely T" that I would like to trade for the Cecil 10 disc FMP box. Email me at petezwief@gdinet.com if interested.
  21. What's the line-up on this one? Thanks.
  22. I could burn Demon Chaser or Marmalade King for you inexchange for a burn of Special Detail. petezwief@gdinet.com
  23. I've got a set I'd be willing to sell. Email me at peter@zwiefelhofer.com if interested. Thanks.
  24. Thank you!
  25. Anybody out there willing to burn me a copy of the alternate takes? Having recently spent $30 on the Japanese release, I think I've contributed enough to artist loyalties and record company profits. Thanks.
