Where does one find these Borders coupons? Are there any valid now?

Barnes & Noble has the release date as 2025. Looks like it's on hold indefinately.

The Rhino site has no info. Amazon says release date is 2010.

I'm totally up for this one. Hope they don't push it back anymore. I was a freshman at UW-LaCrosse in 1975 with no car when they played Oshkosh, WI. Couldn't get there and still regret it.

Do I need to know? No. Would I like to know? Yes. I was pretty amused once when a (young, black) cash register clerk looked at my name on my credit card (Zwiefelhofer) and asked if the name was european. Ask Jackie McLean if you've got the chutzpa. I once asked an irishman if he was protestant or catholic. He was annoyed ("that's pretty personal mate") but answered the question (protestant), and followed up with some very interesting first-hand accounts regarding protestant/catholic relations in Belfast. Jackie McLean might have some insight into race relations, some personal accounts, so ask and tell us what he has to say. Race shouldn't matter, but it does and we're kidding ourselves if we pretend otherwise.

Occassionally I'm struck by the (almost certainly irrational) fear that there are essential, classic and yet obscure jazz recordings missing from my collection. Currently my obsession is focused on the venerable Blue Note label. Anybody care to name some of their favorite obscurities from that label?

Anybody have this book? Does it repeat any stuff from his earlier collections? Does it include any Nat Hentoff articles. Thanks!

I like "Nigerian Market Place", a piano, bass & drum date. And I second the recommendation of "Trio Plus One" with Clark Terry's (great) 'Mumbles' vocals. Having said that, I basicly agree with those having expressed reservations. But I still enjoy him on occassion.

Seems I've spent the last twenty-five years trying to put togather a basic collection of jazz. With close to 2,000 discs, I'm still missing some essential stuff.

Wow, where would I be w/o you guys. I was totally unaware of "Back Togather Again". Needless to say, I've ordered it. Many thanks for the heads-up. And as some may have guessed from my picture signature, I'm a fan of Archie Shepp & Max Roach "The Long March Parts 1 & 2" on hat hut. Both long out of print but I managed to scare up CDRs.
