  1. Probably the same as the previously (a few years ago) issue of the complete material. I am amazed that it sold out already.
  2. I first saw her on Sesame Street as a wee tyke and was mesmerized - completely bowled over - even then.
  3. I assume that's what I used - whatever was advertised when the Blue Notes box came out, which was the last time I tried to do an order w/ them/her.
  4. Well, some sort of response is pretty normal behavior, I would think. Never understood why I've never received one in the past.
  5. DG will have it again, I'm sure... have had a very hard time in the past getting ahold of Hazel, actually have never got a response through Cadillac/Ogun and went elsewhere for my fix.
  6. I'd like to have the extra tracks, just for completist's sake. But spending $30 for 26 minutes of music... well, guess I've done it before! Thanks, I have had the Nefertiti set on Revenant for some time, and was wondering if the Montmartre set was of the same classic quality. You already have all the music on both of the Debut LPs / SAWANO CD's then. No need to buy unless you can't live without that artwork.
  7. I'd say that for a first time seller you did well.
  8. I've come to appreciate Solo Monk on Columbia more and more over the years. It has been some time since I've listened to the small-group Monk Columbias, though they were among the first jazz LPs I bought / heard and in any event, probably paid the most attention at the time to Monk and Rouse.
  9. Good for playing those Music Matters 2LPs on.
  10. Nice one - still looking for it on vinyl.
  11. Incredible sessions. Though "free," there is still a hell of a lot of bebop going on in these dates. I have the Dutch Fontanas of both and the artwork is similar. I mean, if you don't have them already, I'd get these CDs with the cool artwork - even if they're pricey. Sound quality is probably comparable to the Revenant set.
  12. Wow. RIP.
  13. All these letters and numbers have set my head spinning.
  14. His other auctions are similarly hilarious. Guess he forgot to carry the zero?
  15. South African pianist who is not made up. Great name, too. I'd say it just how it looks - Ho' tepp Ee-driss Gah-leh-tah.
  16. I'm not all that into mediocre - both good and "terrible" are memorable enough to leave an impression, and that is what matters.
  17. Hell, that incident just made me get into his music MORE.
  18. Miles - ESP - (Col. 2-eye mono)
  19. Well said. I've long thought Bruz was one of the most underrated and tasteful drummers. What a family.
  20. RIP. I know him from his work with Kagel, etc in Cologne. Interesting character.
  21. You can find Plastilyte discs on ESP recordings - the early ones, anyway.
  22. Sweet - wish I could attend.
  23. I was not able to find birth and death dates online for Bruz Freeman (drummer, brother of Von & George). The LPs I have with him as a sideman do not note a birth date either. Thanks!
