So how was the Burton Greene & Perry Robinson gig & interview???
It was great. I had interviewed Burton before for AAJ, but it was cool to do it in front of an audience and Perry was a blast also. I cooked them dinner at my place, had a lot of fun. My girlfriend, who is a dancer/improviser/choreographer, was invited to dance a couple free pieces with them and it was totally rad. I think there's a chance Burton & Perry will try to come back next year!
Right now:
Frederic Rabold Crew, one track from the Born Free compilation on Scout.
Nice set that also includes Peter Brotzmann, Just Music, Dave Pike, Phil Woods, Albert Mangelsdorff and Lester Bowie.
Seeing Burton Greene and Perry Robinson tonight and tomorrow night. Will also be interviewing them in front of the audience tomorrow. Should be interesting.
Glad they liked my dal recipe last night!
I'll shoot for Saturday. Assume this is connected somehow to the Continental Club?
There's also this, in which I'm participating. Burton Greene + Perry Robinson
Well, with eBay and PayPal connected, they're making more money off the seller. They wouldn't be collecting fees (on top of listing fees) if you paid with check, money order or cash. Dig?
Good question. I've been on since 1998 and am not sure. I know PayPal is owned by eBay. You probably should set something like that up if you can - most buyers are herded into fearing the non-paypal.
I like the Hat quite a bit also.
Loadstar is excellent. I don't have the Denons but would like them. Wasn't as impressed by the date on Fluid by a similar grouping.
Great great album! Just managed to snag this one for $5 and Dupree is on fire! What a surprise to get such great jazz at this price!
I once hemmed and hawed at $40 for an original; I think it was a little worn. I should have bought it and have been kicking myself since.
I like this set!
Got the LP well before it was out in digital form. I hope they cleared up the print-through because that could be a little wonky in the listening department. But regardless, recommended.
Yeah, I feel that way with my 18-year-old patrons at the university library wearing Nirvana t-shirts.
Now:
