  1. I was searching to see if someone already started a thread about his passing. There was none so I just added to an existing thread. I expected the person who made the original post would take the opportunity to update the subject. So sorry to make a ripple in the pond. I should have changed the title, sorry.
  2. Yeah, it'll be pretty interesting. Unfortunately I can only go Sunday but it'll be curious to see Ribot, Bennink and Evan Parker in trio.
  3. No, me neither - it surprises me that few bands outside of the UK, US, and sometimes Italy get much representation, is all.
  4. Mike Osborne. Harry Miller. Mal Waldron.
  5. I regret not buying a clean mono of that one a few months ago.
  6. I take it chewy hasn't been trawling the Rearward/Schema reissue series...
  7. The second list was a little more knowledgeable than the first, it seems. I like the self-titled Hatfields LP better than Rotter's Club, but YMMV. Not much Krautrock represented, either. No Yeti? For that matter, whither Catherine Ribeiro and Alpes?
  8. Groundhogs - Scratching the Surface - (World Pacific, stereo)
  9. Adam Lane is about 36, I think. Darius Jones, Forbes Graham, and Eri Yamamoto are from what I can tell, in their thirties as well.
  10. I couldn't get my iTunes to load track info. Hopefully my memory holds down the road.
  11. Noah Howard - Live at the Village Vanguard - Freedom/Intercord 28.488-5U Noah Howard (as, tamb, bells) Frank Lowe (ts, bells) Bob Bruno (p) Earl Freeman (el-b) Rashied Ali (d) Juma Sutan (cga, tim) Back A'Town Blues (12:42) Conversation (NH solo) (8:33) Dedication (to Albert Ayler) (14:34) NYC, 22/8/72 Great LP!
  12. Fucking hell. RIP, Hugh, and thank you for everything.
  13. You're talking about Discogs on the web, right? For me it doesn't work because a lot of jazz listings aren't in there. I just use Excel, though it of course I keep that pretty minimal. Access might be a better endeavor if you want to go "deep."
  14. Ben Young isn't the fastest cat on the planet, but you'll get it. Just be patient. I have one on order as well.
  15. Might have been one of these...
  16. Seems reasonable. Who knows, maybe someday you or I can afford a copy!
  17. Miles - Agharta - (Columbia, US pressing)
  18. One night in Bangkok makes a hard man humble... Well, he may have been experimenting with this method for years and it didn't work out in his favor this time. According to "sexperts," one should ALWAYS have a safety person nearby when using this method in case something goes wrong.
  19. Hans Dulfer Kwartet - Jazz in Paradiso - (Heavy Soul) 1968-69, w/ Bennink, Van Manen, Altena.
  20. Thanks, would love to hear that Hal Stein.
  21. Yeah, really upsetting news. RIP and thank you, Mr. Carradine. (I accidentally posted a new topic on this as well, sorry porcy.)
  22. Hmm, seem to have missed out on that one...
  23. After my girlfriend got through her Human League jag, it was: Woods/Quill/Shihab/Stein - Four Altos - (Prestige, OJC pressing) picked up for $5 in the shrink after work.
  24. "The Complete Palm Recordings of Jef Gilson"
