  1. Agreed on all fronts.
  2. It'll be back. I hope next time they press it, they keep the original artwork intact. Maybe a Japanese Mini-LP version?
  3. To put it more clearly, they had a license to issue a few titles in a limited edition during a short time period. With that time up, they have continued to press more product and are not paying ESP for this material. It's fairly well-done stuff, but it isn't legit any more, even if at one time it was.
  4. Stollman told me it was not legit, as Abraxas' contract to use the ESP name is long over with.
  5. I think the seed was originally planted years ago in The Onion, iirc.
  6. Sonic Youth - Evol - (SST orig) maybe their most consistent LP?
  7. Jason Gillenwater. He's in NYC, young and on the make. Check him out!
  8. I need to snap this up... and Flexi Sex, too!
  9. Happy belated - hope 'twas a good'n!
  10. I really need more Ra records to get hip on this...
  11. But... the cultural implications of those artists were mostly played out on the independent labels. Same goes for jazz.
  12. Yeah, and pre-orders are being taken, I believe. (Don't say I told you, but Forced Exposure are selling it now, against ESP's wishes) Great disc, whether you get it now or in a month!
  13. Jesus - it sounds un-fucking-real. I would love to hear a recorded document. I agree, this "supergroup" had a recipe that made me think it might not work. So glad it did!
  14. I think they redirected their funds toward other archival releases. Dig the Don Cherry and the Norman Howard/Joe Phillips if you get a chance. I contributed some words to the latter - it's really heavy.
  15. Kinda like when my friend opined - "Yeah, the Jesus Lizard are cool, but it's not Alabama Feeling..." Left me wondering what Birthday Party-esque post punk and a post-Ayler saxophone player had in common, if anything!
  16. Lee Morgan - Cornbread - (BN NY mono)
  17. Now, didn't The Rajah have one of those goofball LT-series covers? I'll try to find it on LP if I can. I've got a number of 60s Mogie dates, but could always use some more fine ones.
  18. Better than The Sidewinder. Guy Yes, that really is a disappointing record for me. I was really bummed when I got that one home. To each their own...
  19. Guess just track 10 is from that gig. It might be Cameron Brown on bass, but I'll have to look tonight.
  20. Is this the '64 Berlin concert? That's good shit.
  21. Thanks. Going to the Rainbow is one of the ones I was thinking of, though I don't have it. Some of that Mad Rockers crap has el-p on it, too, right?
  22. Same here, same cover condition I'll bet too. It's a fantastic record.
