  1. With cover art by Vinny Golia!
  2. Boorrinngg...
  3. Sonic Youth and Yamatsuka Eye - TV Shit - (Ecstatic Peace!)
  4. Hope you get at least a gift certificate to Electric Fetus...
  5. That 'splains a bunch. I dig Lonnie's version of "Sunshine Superman" on Move your Hand. Me too. I also dig Donovan. And Ira Sullivan. So there ya go...
  6. Yeah, this does seem more about repackaging than archiving... I would like to have the '66 Newport material, too, as Guy mentioned elsewhere.
  7. Sabir Mateen/Daniel Carter/David Nuss - Tenor Rising, Drums Expanding - (Sound@One)
  8. Marion lives in a nursing home in Hollywood, Florida. As some of you probably know, his foot was amputated (wrongly) several years ago, for which he received a malpractice settlement. He does go to gigs in New York still, apparently, when they warrant travel, so it's entirely possible he was there. He's starting to play alto again, and has expressed desire to record another album.
  9. I like The Gap!
  10. Seeing it twice in a row... makes me think maybe it was a joke in the first place?
  11. You could always stop!
  12. Garlic, salt, butter, cumin. Not bad...
  13. I've not listened to any of Koglmann's recent work. The Pipe records are interesting, as is the stuff with Reform Art Unit. But that is my only frame of reference.
  14. Y'all may fairly call me a tool for not upgrading from my Japanese LPs when this fucker was around for... not very much $$, as I recall it. Wonder what the chance is of it being repressed in a limited batch yet again?
  15. Dudu Pukwana - In the Townships - (Caroline orig)
  16. Yeah, I should nab a few of those Shipps even tho I'm not a "Shipp Nut."
  17. Yeah, my wallet may take another hit... anyone know how long this is going to go?
  18. I'll try my best to keep the beancounters happy, then... And spend more $$!
  19. George Russell - Ezz-thetic - (Riverside orig mono)
  20. Don Ellis - Essence - (Pacific Jazz orig stereo)
  21. For $5 a pop, I got the Portal and one of the Richard Grossmans (I like Even Your Ears), and for $6.50 I got the Giuffre. Not a bad deal! I would also recommend the McPhee Tenor/Fallen Angels and the Brotzmann if you don't have them already... "tastes" depending, of course, but I think those are stunning dates. The Tony Ortega New Dance reissue is from a nice session also, originally on Revelation.
  22. Sam Rivers - A New Conception - (BN Liberty mono)
  23. I was more concerned with Brooks's drumming, which is fantastic, but you are right - Shaw and Coleman are excellent here.
