  1. Because there's always the spectre of "coming back."
  2. The only 2LP 45 I have is Ut's In Gut's House on Blast First. It's a great rec, but a) it wasn't mastered by Steve Hoffman and b) 2LP 45s are a pain in the ass.
  3. Joachim Kuhn - Paris is Wonderful - (BYG Actuel) w/ J-F Jenny-Clarke, Jacques Thollot, Aldo Romano and guitarist Georges Locatelli.
  4. Gospel, I would assume: Nashboro Discog
  5. As much of a pussy as Kanye is, his production on the new Common disc is not bad. My roommate has had it in heavy rotation, and I was impressed.
  6. Ohhhh what a sweeeetie! Verrry cute! (admit to a compulsive fixation on cuteoverload.com)
  7. Funny... he looked a little younger on screen. Good film, though it didn't quite meet my (admittedly very high, no lie) expectations.
  8. She can probably suck a golf ball through a garden hose, but other than that, not my type either...
  9. Clifford Thornton - The Gardens of Harlem - (JCOA) My "namesake" would have been 71 today. Happy birthday to the real "CT."
  10. I pretty much can't STAND Zeppelin. That said, I've heard wasted/stoned live boots that are excellent, with some pretty bizarre sonic juxtapositions.
  11. Happy Birthday, Bob! Hope it was full of Landsownes!
  12. I write for PT and am still not entirely clear on the fate of the magazine. I have submitted reviews for a "Fall" issue but do not know when that will run.
  13. I just play whatever I want for whomever I want. Most of my friends are pretty cool and appreciative of my musical taste. As I likewise am or try to be.
  14. Paul Bley - Barrage - (ESP-Disk' orig, red label mono) cool lineup w/ Graves, Gomez, Marshall Allen, Dewey Johnson and cover art by the great Michael Snow!
  15. Probably John, of "Fishing With John" and Lounge Lizards fame. An interesting composer.
  16. I believe the Silvas are from the tapes. At least that's for sure on Seasons. It's good enough that I replaced my original vinyl with it!
  17. Max Roach & Anthony Braxton - One in Two, Two in One - (Hat Hut) From the boxed set that also contains Shepp's set, entitled The Long March. Cover art by Niklas Troxler!
  18. Sirone - Artistry - (Of the Cosmos) w/ Bernard Fennell, James Newton and Don Moye. Sick LP if y'all haven't dug into it.
  19. I saw somebody rear-end a parked car at about 30mph last night. Dumbass.
  20. I passed on what I believe is Jean-Luc Ponty's first recording, with the Wolfgang Dauner Trio, an MPS pressing (originally on Saba) for about $15. Wonder if I should've bought it...
  21. Michael Garrick Trio - Moonscape - (Trunk reissue) Really getting a lot of mileage out of this'n so far...
