  1. Definitely grab it ! I've passed on the Rare Groove vinyl of 'Move Your Hand' a couple of times. Wish I hadn't now.
  2. Wayne Shorter 'Night Dreamer' (BN NY USA mono)
  3. Looks like England manager Ericsson will finally be 'getting the boot' after the finals this Summer. One indiscretion too far.
  4. Hope it was a good one.
  5. It sounded better, the biggest improvement was bass frequency focus, with my previous stuff, Audio Reaserch LS22 and Mark Levinson 29. Considering the cost and the results, I wouldn't buy it again, expecially with Linn gears. I think that Linn's power supply (switching mode) is quite indifferent to power conditioner, at least to my ears. Thanks, porcy and blake ! I suspect that it would not help much either in my case, with the Lingo and XPS power supplies.
  6. This must be a record for a less than mint Bud Powell vinyl set: Bud Powell BN Mosaic
  7. Did you find that the power conditioner made much difference, porcy?
  8. Is it true that the 'Jazz In Britain' is from the same sessions that also resulted in Alan Skidmore's 'Once Upon A Time'? Looking forward to this batch of Vocalions..
  9. Dexter Gordon Quartet Manhattan Symphonie' (UK CBS) Dexter Gordon and Slide Hampton 'A Day In Copenhagen' (MPS/BASF UK pressing)
  10. Jazztet set disks 5, 6 and 7 this weekend.
  11. Better than the original ! Thanks for sharing.
  12. Eric Dolphy 'Fire Waltz' (Prestige 2LP set by RCA with Ken McIntyre's 'Looking Ahead' and Mal Waldron's 'The Quest'). Nice notes by McIntyre.
  13. Well, that would be a bit drastic, then... instead just let me mention that back in that *other* zweit/zyx-boxes sale two years or so ago, I *did* get the Evans Fantasy, for, if memory serves me right, around 15 euro-zlotys... that should be punishment enough Outrageous ! I think it had sold out before I got my order in...
  14. Whopeee ! Only that you mis-quoted and it's not me that got it Woops - apologies. 'Off with his head !'
  15. I've just been giving the 'small box' Bill Evans a spin and the sound is pretty damn good to my ears. It's a shame that the 'Complete Fantasy' set hasn't been listed as part of the deal. It will be nice to get to read the booklet for the Complete Riverside set.
  16. Answering my own question, here's some info on the Cavendish: Terry Cavendish Orchestra Looks like it might be aimed at the Jason King wanabee fraternity..
  17. Presumably also Amancio D'Silva's 'Konkan Dance' will be issued as well (per Steph's email)? (update - ah, just seen it on Roger's list). Good to see the Garrick 'Cold Mountain' out at last. That one has eluded me. I have the 'Poetry and Jazz In Concert' 2LP box set. If it's this one, it has Laurie Lee and several other notable poets reciting their stuff with backing from Rendell, Carr, Garrick & co. I quite like this one, although admit that it may not be to everyone's taste. The 'Jazz In Britain 68-69' looks like an absolute ringer. Wonder what the 'Terry Cavendish' is like?
  18. Check this out ! http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/london/4631396.stm
  19. Re: the new Hill artwork. Looks like the same 'doodler' who did the Monk/Coltrane has been at work. A missed opportunity. Why couldn't they have got Patrick Roques on the case?
  20. Looks unmissable. Wish I could get there..
  21. Yes, well said. I think this is true for quite a number of the sets. Stanley Turrentine also comes to mind.
  22. Grant Green 'Grantstand' (BN NY USA mono). Yusef Lateef firing on all cylinders !
