  1. Not at the moment, but why did you post it in the audio thread?
  2. And do you like "Greetings from LA" ? another fantastic album. I am looking for an original pressing of it since long time. I like all the Buckley's records I have: Blue Afternoon, Goodbye And Hello, Love Letters.
  3. Red Garland Quintet RED'S GOOD GROOVE Jazzland, mono
  4. Tim Buckley BLUE AFTERNOON Straight Records.
  5. Marion Brown THREE FOR SHEPP Impulse! stereo
  6. For a lot of young people "latin" is a language spoken somewhere in Latin America, that's really scarying.
  7. these peformances are all they are made out to be. However, the recording is resonant and a complementary digital one is nice- I have kovacevich which is excellent and vogt. But my favourite, albeit also an analogue recording, is baremboim /barbirolli. In the slow movement it's as if the chords' descent is hesitating, reluctant, and aspires to climb - a srtruggle between the treble wanting to stay up and the bass chords pulling it down that is very poignant and makes a straight reading very bland.I urge anyone to hear this, it's cheap.Anyone see the film " the l shaped room"?it was the use of the d minor as background that made me love it ever since. I've got the vinyl box set, and yes, the sound is in the tradition of bad sounding DG (there are some good sounding DG too, like the early pressing with the "tulip" label or Beethoven's symphonies Wiener/Bohm). However I had that Barbirolli / Barenboim on a bestbuy EMI twoofer, I couldn't find it anymore, maybe I lent it to a friend and it never came back and, as far I remember, the sound was excellent, so was the performance, but it's in the Brahms' 'classic' stream. Not that I disliked it, but Gilels/Jochum changed my opinion about Brahms.

  9. That's Linn for you. Klout, Lingo, Armaggedon, Ekos, Kaliber, Krapp etc. Ikea Oh, you have Ikea in Italy, do you? MG Tons of Ikea over here. The weekend's nightmare of millions of italian males forced by their girlfriends and wifes. I'd spend one whole day at work rather then an afternoon at Ikea. And the Absolut vodka isn't even cheaper then the at market near home!
  10. I've got a Stiff, love this record
  11. Just as side note, this thread reminds me these W. Allen dialogue in Anything Else : And I was coming home, speeding a little bit. What's the fun of having a car like that if you can't get a little velocity going? And I was stopped by two state troopers. They were exceptionally nasty, and one thing led to another. They made some remarks and got physical, and I made some remarks, and they got a little rough, and the next thing I knew, they made some crack about my religion, which I found in poor taste. Religion? You're an atheist. Yes, I'm an atheist, but I resented the fact, however obliquely that they implied Auschwitz was basically a theme park. Anyhow, a little bloodied, I returned to my apartment and got one of my many weapons, and I returned to find them. Don't you dare tell me you shot them. I couldn't find both of them, only one. As fate turned out, I located the more porcine of the two. How serious? In a satirical mood, I thought it would be amusing if I shot him in the ass, but it was dark and I was nervous, and, you know, time has diminished my accuracy.
  12. My solution will be this: http://www.einstein-audio.de/english/produ...ntable_eng.html
  13. That's Linn for you. Klout, Lingo, Armaggedon, Ekos, Kaliber, Krapp etc. Ikea

  15. The Jazztet BIG CITY SOUND Argo, mono dg.
  16. Please don't put words in my mounth, english is not my mother language so I can make mistake about religion/ethnies/race because of that. I wish only to ask you what bothered you about the news and the fact that in today's world it's noteworthy that a muslim help a jew.
  17. Why do you keep saying "racial? I thought jews weren't a race....but a religion? At least that's what they used to tell me. Sorry, you're right, take it as "religion", I assumed that it was a "racist" attack, so I used the wrong word. Sorry if I offended someone.
  18. Thick black plastic body bags?
  19. According to the old rule that if a dog bites a man is no news (unless it was GWB's or Hillary Clinton's dog and the bited ass is an important one) and if a man bites a dog is a news maybe I missed the point od Dumpy. Case A (NEWS) in NY racial attacks against jews are pretty rare. Case B (NO NEWS): in NY racial attacks against jews are pretty common. Case C (NO NEWS) in NY racial attacks against jews are pretty common and usually everybody turn their head on the other side. Case D (NO NEWS): in NY racial attacks against jews are pretty common and usually nobody turn their head on the other side. I could continue for a while, but I think you got the point. In this specific case where's the news for you?
  20. Or: Do you think humankind has a safe and viable future on the planet over the next 25 years? That's exactly what I said to my merchant banker when he shows me the estimates of long term investments.
  21. Over here, they do. There's usually a limitation in the policy to say they don't if the suicide is within a certain number of years of the start of the policy - can't remember whether it's two or five years. MG Same here.
  22. aye Yes, and the news is on the front page of all major italian newspapers.
