  1. Lately I was a bit suprise by the good recording of Ornette at Town Hall, ESP mono, not a wide and big sound, but clear and natural sound for a live recording.
  2. Frankly, I wouldn't be able to make a list, maybe some Contemporary, but with vinyls, as Chuck knows very well, it often depends on wich pressing do you own.
  3. I am reading all the Fred Vargas' novels. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fred_Vargas
  4. Well, I presume I am a lucky guy. My nearest neighbour is a a deaf old lady. BTW I just retubed my Audio Research preamp...
  5. Yep, that is my point Agree. And I want an ECM forum, just to bother Chewy.
  6. For excellent blues discussions and plentiful recommendations, go here?. Edit: That's not a question mark in my sentence. Its in the URL but for some reason is being displayed. Nah, you can't seriously discuss about blues in a forum with Except Political Topics THESE WILL BE REMOVED. in the front page.
  7. Nah, after the U.S. elections, I want a manual system and a recount.
  8. I find that a clean on the VPI helps in this respect. I know what you mean though. The early mono PJs are fine though in this regard. Not like those rubbish World Pacific 'fold-down' monos. Agree Mono, and even stereo, early PJ smokes, I love my Curtis Amy stuff.
  9. That'll explain that then! And explains also the fact that, since most of audiophiles are middle aged, they still believe at the bs of even older professional reviewers. A dialogue between deafs.
  10. K. Jarrett PERSONAL MOUNTAINS ECM. my favourite KJ's european quartet date, and the sound is not so ecm-ish, as some of chew-you may expect (maybe because it was recorded live in Japan ) Ah, yes, mono.
  11. This may be my favorite of his. Mine's stereo; I've never seen a mono. So am I the only one here to own a mono copy of this? It's on my mono section of vinyls, between Who's Next and After The Goldrush, both mono obviously
  12. Stereo? After the mono thread and the classical forum thread I wish propose two different thread: 1 ) What mono vinyl are you spinning right now?? 2) What stereo vinyl are you spinning right now??
  13. I resurrected my dad's classical records, stored in a dump garage for twenty years, with a natural sponge and mild dish soap. Lately I used on them a VPI and Miracle Disc Doctor stuff and it was another great step ahead. Vinyl is always a surprise, not always a nice one, but it worths the job.
  14. Not the nation, the nationS. Everything worthing seeing is on pay-channel. On the other hand with my wife I have the best excuse for listening music, instead of sitting in front of a dumb empty brain damaging box. My problem is that I have to work on that shit!
  15. I am not sure, but you should check out also Makavejev's other movie "Montenegro", though probably Brownie is right. http://us.imdb.com/title/tt0082770/
  16. I totally agree.
  17. Chewy is telling me that I'm nuts. I'll join the Club. The Nuts' One. No, all of you old codgers need to either remove the cotton from your ears, or invest in some Capitol mono LPs, among the best sounding LPs I've ever heard. You totally misunderstood my reply.
  18. Not at all if you look for original first pressings, but later OJC reissues might be a serious andd cheap alternative, though I haven't got experience with them.
  19. It might be a good idea. If you are a biker it's common to wear out the upper part of the left shoe more then the right one, because of the gear.
  20. Chewy is telling me that I'm nuts. I'll join the Club. The Nuts' One.
  21. There's what sounds like quite a bit of high pitch feed-through, if that's what you mean. At least that was my last recollection of the set. I'll have to check. A couple of king-sized sofas should cure it. And it helps just in case you don't like the record....ZZZZZZHHHH!
  22. It could be, actually I was talking of something happened twenty years ago, it might had been a foam suspension, though it appeared to me a rubber one, it had the same consistency of my bicycle's air chambers.
  23. My very same words...$$$$$ ago.
