  1. Another answear could be that all jazz lovers are suspect.
  2. Also interesting how people put more weight on the comments rather than on the whole man's life. Especially on one they've never met. Did you know Reggie White? No, but I think I'll give more credence to those who did (those quoted in the ESPN story) than to those who didn't (pretty near everyone in this thread). Do you know those people who knew Reggie White?
  3. Was the victim a maiden killed during lunch time? Film directors love this symbolic stuff
  4. I didn't know anything about Reggie White, and football ( I mean american football, we play "real" football, that you call erroneously "soccer", as every UK member of this board can explain you ), but this thread confirms me that the good old times of Mohamed Alì and Tommy Smith are gone.
  5. FRANK ZAPPA "OVER-NITE SENSATION" Discreet promo copy.
  6. Oops! When I made the new forum everything got shifted. Would you folks rather have it back towards the bottom? Do you mean back to B-Side?
  7. Do you mean that we europeans are the Christmas Avantgarde? MERRY CHRISTMAS!
  8. This might tell you something about the "high end audio" marketers and by extension, the followers. Few of these "experts" dealt with this stuff "back then". But EQs were the top of "high end audio" marketers and by extension, the followers, only fifteen years ago
  9. Don Cherry "Complete Communion" from Cherry's Mosaic set. I love Gato when he doesn't indulge on self satisfaction.
  10. All ECM titles, and some spare vinyl, is available at ECM website: http://www.ecmrecords.com/Startseite/startseite.php. I ordered from them some LPs, no discount, but nice service.
  11. Exactly, why should I buy "Kind of Blue" if I have a Columbia first pressing or a Classic vinyl reissue or a Mosaic Lp set or a 24bit remastered cd? A part multichannel that I don't care, how much does the sound quality will improve with a SACD?
  12. Freddie Redd's Mosaic
  13. Right! We "amateur" will have to withdrawal in the Miscellaneous - Non-Political
  14. I have Sundazed's reissues of Dylan, Byrd, Redding, excellent pressing from analog master tapes at reasonable prices.
  15. All specs at http://store.acousticsounds.com/ I am not related with them, but they have all the news about new vinyl
  16. Shame on me
  17. Has anybody the 1953 original vinyl?
  18. John Abercrombie NIGHT ECM
  19. And consider L. Donaldson, B. Mitchell, G. Green, Turrentine Bros and J. Patton. A never ending thread... You really think so. Shorter, Hancock, Blakey and Horace recorded long strings of good albums. But the rest of the guys mentioned... Sometimes good records, sometimes mediocre (you can argue that even the mediocre BN is better than anything else). Sorry I can't agree that Donaldson and G.Green were as consistant in high quality as the others. I agree with you: Shorter, Hancock, Blakey and Horace, (I would add Hill, McLean and S. Rivers) are giants, and their better output is on BN. On the other hand a lot of names mentioned above have their better output on BN. Anyway I am with you, if I have to chose...
  20. And consider L. Donaldson, B. Mitchell, G. Green, Turrentine Bros and J. Patton. A never ending thread...
  21. Is that 3-CD set of his stuff still in print? How's the sound on that? Don't bother about sound, get it! It's one of the most essential sets to have! (Sound is fine, but my ears are not the ones to be trusted about that...) ubu This music is awesome, visionary, funny and sad. (A weird set of adjectives, but if you've heard the box set, you know what I mean.) Get it ASAP. Guy And if you like vinyl it's a common Mosaic set on Ebay, usually at almost fair prices!
  22. Hard choice! I would probably list 10/15 per cent of BN catalog! To those already mentioned I would add A. Hill and S. Rivers.
  23. I did not read this thread, so maybe is a repost or is out of topic, but I like this site: http://www.yannarthusbertrand.com/
