  1. That's an awful lot of Trane, but great, great music. I've been totally digging my vinyl set of "Heavyweight Champion." I love Trane's Atlantic period. I also love the Village Vanguard set with Dolphy. Listening to the Trane Atlantic LPs in succession is akin to having a spirtual experience Totally agree. "Heavyweight Championship" should have called "Spiritual trip"!
  2. Today is Trane time, started with some Atlantics, it will end with Ascension. Ascension? Nahh, my wife will kill me before that!
  3. Since the US election I started to listen at Lps that remember me another country. Today it's WOODSTOCK OST turn B-)
  4. I resisted to cd issue until now, but I have to know! After a while I had to buy the JJohnson cd set, because rumors say Mosaic Lp set would not sell, so they buried it, Amen!
  5. Do you mean I have to drop them all together on the head of the President, or should I throw them one by one like freesbies?
  6. I usually find a couple of HORO lps at month, here in Roma. I've got Shepp and Konitz, not bad for 5 euros. I am not very impressed by artistic value, but agreable records.
  7. Yes, but the average price is around 5 $. Maybe there are some rare disc, but I didn't find any reference, like Goldmine, ecc.
  8. I will look around for them. It might be easier for me in Italy. If I will find them I will let you know.
  9. Just found a very big stone, I think it's an old gospel 78 rpm records of stone age. The musician is called Moses, it contains ten tracks called Law 1, Law 2, ecc, the ASCAP author is someone called Lord (maybe he has some relation with Deep Purple John Lord). It costs ten euros, but I don't know if it worths the cost of transport.
  10. I found a box full of V-Disc in a countryside house, they are in a good shape, visually I mean, I haven't got any 78 rpm player. Mostly of them are stuff of G.Miller or F.Sinatra. Do you know if there is any market for them?
  11. That's what I mean. Starting now a serious DB would be a full time job, a part the BRIAN discographies. I have too many lps, from africans to Lou Reed. Maybe when I will retired. B-)
  12. I like the first two or three Weather Report Lps, still heavy sound!
  13. Bob Dylan/ The Band "The Basament Tapes", white label promo. I just got a buch of vinyls from my pusher, mostly Watt at ridicolous price. I have to admit that I love Carla Bley Band records as much as I hate Steve Swallow records, is he still her husband? And I found also Pharoah's "Wisdom Through Music", strange stuff, it remembers me some Barbieri's music.
  14. It would be great, but probably too much work for a lazy guy like me. I am thinking at my rock'n roll lps too, in a session based DB it would be difficult to define a recording date for sessions who lasted months like "Sergeant Pepper's" or "Ummagumma", I should use the album realise instead. Anyway I will download BRIAN one of these days (It sounds like a Monthy Phyton's software)
  15. This morning my wife told me: Why don't you use a data base for you collection? I thought it's a good idea. Is anybody out there using a DB? I use MacOS, not Windows.
  16. I got it!! http://www.organissimo.org/forum/index.php...ulse!+label
  17. I know there was a topic like this, but I couldn't find it. Any help?
  18. I saw at least three complete sets (vol. 1/2/3) in the last month. There is one complete set right now http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...4046234398&rd=1 Considering the average prices, 1000 bucks doesn't seems too much!! P.S. I prefer Partagas 8/9/9 or Romeo & Julieta Cazadores.
  19. Since BN originals are far too expensive and I am not a huge jazz organ fan, I will get it one of these days. B-) BTW Wich cigar is on your avatar? A Montecristo n. 2?
  20. I would say: not too much a bow record, for ECM stuff!
  21. Definitely familiar! I remember you got the Young set; even if it is digitally, awful word, mastered, how is the sound?
  22. Well, I couldn't say is a fusion lp, but... Get it, it surely worths the cost.
  23. I haven't any problems with ECM sound. I love this album. I found Lloyd more interesting when he lost his Trane sound, more relaxin, like someone who had found his music. Like vine, I think Lloyd is aged well, maybe matured?
  24. Thanks Wolff! I knew I could count on you! What I am thinking is that rarest Mosaics are usually part of big collections, and you can find them on ebay only when these collections are sold. Of course, some set like Mitchell or Parlan are probably rarer because of the few copy printed. BTW I won an auction for Blakey at half the price you reported. It worths look for non US seller, I spared on shipping cost too!
  25. By chance, I listened at this Lp yesterday, I forgot I had bought it twenty years ago! Not a very carefully listening because I had to fix the flowers in the terrace. I like it, it remembers me the WR groove, with Surman instead of Shorter, and acoustic piano instead of electric one. Just to say that Zawinul, that I really love, was wrong about Vitous!
