  1. BOOKER ERWIN THE SPACE BOOK
  2. Right, corporations know how to lead the market, but in this case they failed, maybe they have been too greedy. They didn't want loose money in the short period.
  3. Same for me B-)
  4. Oh man, I once passed by an Italian couple having a nap on a bench in a train station, and the odour from their armpits could be smelled at a five feet distance ... so, if sleeping can be defined as some type of working ... They'd probably just had sex. EXACTLY!
  5. I prefer to think about myself as a vintage wine.
  6. This not true, we and our american cousins work hard, a lot of business. Couw, one of these days I'll make you an offer you can't refuse.
  7. vajerzy, I did not hear any news from you, so I suppose you finally start an italian course!
  8. I have read somewhere that colored vinyl is more delicate. I have only a Zappa's picture lp that I don't listen to, I listen to a black version. Correction: I have several Ryko double transparent green vinyl of David Bowie, I bought them used, and their condition are not great, but it doesn't mean they were originally bad.
  9. Hank Mobley WORKOUT, BN NY pressing, stereo.
  10. I love "Ernie Wilkins-Kenny Clarke Septet" on Savoy, I don't know if is it available on cd, but for me definitely it worths a search.
  11. No, no, of course not. But I realized that when I looked back on my first post, it kind of looked like I DID see a therapist for this problem. No, I see a therapist for all of my other problems! Is he a good therapist? I am not asking for myself of course, but I have a friend who has a problem...
  12. Just received from UK: THE WHO "TOMMY", first pressing Track.
  13. Does NYC label sound much better than NJ? Different pressing plants? I presume they sound different because the NYC are first pressing, but after n. 7140 the NJ were first pressing.
  14. You're right. Anyway I didn't try grappa for cleaning paint spot, maybe it's work
  15. I think Shrdlu will not approve that
  16. Yes, there are some nice "design" bottles, but are more expensive and you don't have any warranty about the fluid! That doesn't mean that grappa in nice bottle is bad, usually it's good quality grappa, but you pay more the design than the fluid. In Italy we buy nice bottles as presents. For me the worst thing about "design" bottle is that usually contain less grappa! I would say "Don't pay a book for its cover" .
  17. Thanks Brownie!
  18. I have some Prestige original pressings, some of them have Bergenfield, NJ address on label, other have W. 50th St. . On Goldmine different Prestige label appears to be both first pressing, but they have different quotations. Does it depends on rarity or different quality pressing?
  19. Grappa is the traditional italian spirit, normally distilled from vinaccia, a part of grapevine. There are hundreds varieties of grappa, like vines: grappa from Cabernet Sauvignon, from Brunello, etc, basically you can do a grappa from every different vine. And you can put aromatic plants or fruit in a grappa bottle, like chili or raspberry. My grandfather used to distill it at home, in Italy is legal to do it for your personal use. The main producer of grappa are North East Italy: Veneto and Friuli Venezia Giulia. The best brand is Nonino ( http://www.nonino.it/load.html) they have a english version Nonino is the best brand you could find outside Italy, there are a lot of good small producers that probably don't export. Salute!
  20. Sorry guys, I was out of town so I miss this thread. My experience as italian is: it's easy to get a paypal account, but you have a sending limit, (at least I have one, 2000 $, and it's not a monthly limit, it lasts forever!), because of VISA restriction, so you must have TWO different Credit Card, like Visa and Amex, to exceed this limit. It's not possible to send send a IMO from Italy to US because the postal services of Italy and US don't have an agreement about that, it's crazy, but it's true!!. You can send money via Western Union or Moneygram, but it's expensive, or via Bidpay, a little bit cheaper. My suggestion is that your customer open a paypal account with a credit card otherwise he could pay you via Bidpay with a credit card. Anyway if you have a "real big problem" with your customer, send me his mail, I will try my best to help you.
  21. I know there are few UK boards member here, and this is a jazz bb, but I think it's fair to pay a tribute for a great music lover, and more. A friend just told me John Peel died one month ago. I asked: "Peel's who?". "The guy of Peel's sessions". A for the guy who got the first play of The Beatles' Sergeant Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band full coverage http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/entertainment/t...dio/3955289.stm
  22. Thanks Garth, very useful reference.
