  5. Definitely not the best Shorter's I have, dust bin pick.
  6. I really love all the albums of this group
  7. Just played my copy and yes, I agree, too "relaxed" for my taste, nice playing, but the choice of the tunes is definitely on the dull side.
  8. Van Gelder. A pristine mono Prestige is such a pleasure to listen to that trash any supermegagazillion audiophile remastering in the universe.
  9. Since I found most of the posts here too difficult or scholarly for a jazz "amateur" like me, Jerry's ones are a must when I visit the forum.
  10. Miles Davis at Blackhawk, mosaic. disc 1, Friday
  11. Obviously the theory works, but just the reverse, to low watt, but big tubes, like triodes.
  12. Freud would talk of compensation law
  13. Asylum. Shelley Mann on drums, Jim Hughart on bass and Lew Tabackin on tenor.
  14. Linn Klimax Solo monoblock, 500 watt into 4 Ohm.
  15. I have these ones, and they look definitely nicer then Naim.
  16. Their circuit layouts and wiring are pretty unfussy and very old-school. I took the Superline apart at the weekend to tighten up the BNC connectors and as an old fart electronics engineer it was a pleasure to see so many discrete components and hard-wired solder links. Linn certainly did some great recent upgrades to the LP12 (Keel and Radikal for example). Never been a great fan of their amps.. Actually I am talking about the case, not the circuit layouts, I know it's silly, but...
  17. I mean the ceo has full right to move the business to more profitable field, actually he has to, but expecially with small and medium firms rooted in "hi fi", it was a death move.
