  1. That's why I've been sticking ordering from Mosaic. Legendary customer service including replacing a defective disc in one set many years after purchase. I have no problems with buying direct from Mosaic. In fact over the years I have bought over 40 sets from them. However I do object to getting stuffed with a significent additional charge for VAT and "Collection?". In the past the collection of these charges has been a bit "hit and miss" but I find that nowadays anything I buy from outside the EEC invariably gets caught in Customs and incurs both a charge and a delay. Why not buy from within the EEC and get rid of the hassle? I agree - eight quid for the post office to collect four? It's OUTRAGEOUS!!!! mg Actually, since the poor quality of postal service over here I prefer Mosaic with UPS or other private shipping, the last bunch of sets, 4, I spent exactly the same, the calculation is above. And I get them in a week to my door.
  2. I am sure you need the Monk set, who doesn't?
  3. I've all the stuff on japanese lps that sounds excellent, so I am not really interested in this set. About the Kirk, don't know, actually I've got Latin and Spirts on original stereos.
  4. Transatlantic early pressing.
  5. The guy was bashful, always prefers his music speaks for him, not an histrionic character who usually appeal the press.
  6. I dont't know, he was fundamentally interested in symphonic repertoire, and concerts of course. Maybe italian conductors have more appeal for US audience as opera's performer, like Muti or Giulini, a stereotype nowadays IMHO.
  7. Pentangle - Sweet Child - Transatlantic
  8. Transatlantic Stereo, early pressing.
  9. A nice person as well. Lots of projects for promoting music among larger audience, as La Scala director he promoted a program for free "Music for workers and students". His appreciation and support for the educational program in Venzuela for young and poor people should also be noted.
  10. Italian pressing.

  13. Curioulsy I lost my copy of WR first album
  14. I remember hearing a track from that back in the day on BBC Radio 1 through my transistor radio, singles chart show. A one-off abberation for a jazz artist ! (John Handy's 'Hard Work' excluded) I guess that is a wrong perspective, would you like it if wasn't Byrd but Isaac Hayes? And Electric Byrd is a gorgeous record.
  15. donald byrd - spaces and places
  16. I found that one disappointing. A lot of people like it, but I'll stick with my view. Me too - I liked it. I like it, not yet finished though
