  1. The dish was still empty earlier. Monk must have been a fast eater. That’s Phil Woods. I don’t have any clues who playing sax next to Phil. Any guesses?

  3. Photo taken at the Jazz Loft during a 1959 rehearsal. At the bottom it look like Monk had some take out food. You can see the take out container. I wonder what he ordered.

  8. I never liked that beer. Almost as bad as Lowenbrau or Peels.
  9. Here’s a rare photo, at least to me. The Jazz Gallery Chicago I can gear the music in this photo, if you know what I mean. I can’t make out what beer Monk is drinking. The image is too blurry. Anyone have an idea?
  10. I have both of these, Brubeck and Rushing and Monk and Mulligan and these are two as well. The Monk and Mulligan has a fell as if they had been working together for sometime.
  11. I have been listening to Coltrane's Impulse recordings. I just finished up his two sessions that Impulse paired Trane with another solo artist. One being Duke Ellington and the second with Johnny Hartman. Both of these work so well from the first track to the last. Too bad these were both one off projects. Like that bag of chips, you even eat the crumbs wedged at the bottom, I wanted more from both. Are there any other one off collaborations that are as good?
  12. I’m guessing this photo is from the late 1950’s. I think it’s just a fan others in the Facebook page believe she is a film star.
  13. RIP

  17. I have two CD's of Trumbauer's music. Chronological Classics 1927 - 1928 and 1936 - 1946. Any other CD's out there that others here know or have? I want to pick up another one.
  18. Great story.
  19. This is a channel that just broadcasts jazz, soul, blues and African music. The advertisement I saw this channel streams what appears to be live concerts. Anyone here a subscriber to this station? https://svod.qwest.tv/f/free-trial?utm_source=Facebook&utm_medium=LP-conversions&utm_campaign=conversions1
