  1. Miles with Wynton. I would love to know what Miles was thinking.
  2. I’ve also learnt to have a mirror copy of the music. I lost one drive.
  3. Quite often I run across concerts fir each year of the NorthSea jazz festival that we’re recorded for radio. This leads me to deduct that all of these concerts are recorded and exist in some vault. This gives me hope that there’s some unheard Mobley waiting in the wings. Anyone here ever heard this Hank Mobley concert
  4. A long time. I haven’t listen to it all. When I retire I will make it a priority.
  5. What a sad sad story.
  6. Does anyone know if this was ever issued in any format? 7. March 5th, 1955. Birdland. A week later he would be gone.
  8. Well, what I posted up top is what is on display at the jazz museum of Harlem. This is what Dean used to record Charlie Parker when he came to New York Following Bird.
  9. This is the disc cutter that Dean Benedetti lugged around in New York when he recorded Bird on 52nd street. This unit is so cumbersome to carry around, it makes me appreciate even more his effort in recording Charlie Parker.
  10. Give the guy a cigar. It was JR Monterose.
  11. It may just be a fan. Someone thinks it is Peter Sellers. Any other guesses?
  12. This is great on so many levels.
  13. Could be. Thanks.
  14. Oscar Pettiford is on cello, but who's playing bass? Any guesses? I don't know who took the photo.
  15. RIP.
  16. Thelonious Monk and Bud Powell walking together. They didn't seem to any form or rivalry between the two.
  17. I do have a discography of Bud Powell. The second and third dates have been issued on a Fresh Sounds CD. The first three tracks are listed as unissued. Does anyone know if tracks 1 - 3 have ever been issued? Program and biographical notes inserted in container. Tracks 1-3 recorded Feb. 7, 1953; tracks 4-8 recorded Feb. 14, 1953; tracks 9-10 recorded Mar. 7, 1953; all tracks recorded live at Birdland for broadcast on WJZ-FM. Tea for two -- It could happen to you -- Lover come back to me -- Lullaby of Birdland -- I want to be happy -- Embraceable you -- I've got you under my skin -- Ornithology -- Hallelujah -- How high the moon. https://catalog.loc.gov/vwebv/search?searchCode=LCCN&searchArg=2017605369&searchType=1&permalink=y
  18. Another one.
  19. I think you’re right I think you’re right.
  20. I can't figure which Mosaic box George Coleman has on his piano. It's at the 2:15 mark.
  21. Unless Duke is typing the lyrics to a song, what would a QWERTY typewriter be needed for with sheet music? BTW, snappy attire.
  22. RIP, Willie.
