  1. I am trying to learn this tune, albeit I know the changes, I sometimes like to hear different versions of tunes, to see how other musicians approved playing the tune. Any favorite versions of this tune you can recommend me checking out? I am playing guitar. I do have a great version played by Joe Pass. I also have a Kenny Barron take on this tune I like.

  5. Well the world didn't end, at least not this time. Scientists at the European Organization for Nuclear Research (CERN), just outside of Geneva, on Monday said that they had succeeded in creating a mini Big Bang by changing the particles they use for their high-speed collisions from protons to heavier lead ions. These types of ultra-high-speed smash-ups at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) are an attempt to re-create the explosion, known as the Big Bang, which is believed to have begun the universe. As spokeswoman Barbara Warmbein told the Associated Press, the CERN experiment over the weekend produced "a very, very, very small bang." cern

  15. Does anyone remember back in the late 70s or early 80s, a TV ad by a singer selling his album? Although he was an unknown singer, he made himself sound as if he had been around for years. I believe his first name was Frank. I do recall reading that he sold 80,000 copies of his album through the commercial.

  20. This sounds like a great festival The First Annual Dexter Gordon Festival NOVEMBER 14th – 23th 2010 - DEXTER GORDON FESTIVAL November 14-23: Concerts and Reminiscenses When we talk about the European period of the legendary tenor Dexter Gordon in the 60’s and 70’s, we immediately think about the jazz club Jazzhus Montmartre. That was his home there. For this very special Dexter Gordon tribute festival, with the close collaboration of Maxine Gordon, famous Danish and American musicians will be part of this event. Some played with Dex already 45 years ago, as the very great drummer “Tootie” Heath for example, or George Cables who was Dexter’s choice of pianist when he returned to the US in 1976.
