  1. Thanks. I tried that, but I still seem to end up with a 2 second gap between tracks even though they are merged together.
  2. Would anyone know how to remove gaps between tracks using Sound Forge? I'm trying to save 2 live shows someone gave me. Each tunes is broken up into 10 to 12 files. I want to link them together.
  3. I think he's made up. No Charlie James is listed in Lord's discography. It wouldn't have been a pseudonym on a poster. MG Thanks for the reply. I guess that person, as you stated is made up.
  4. How was the Barry Harris workshop?
  5. There is a coffee house where I live. They play jazz music and also have replica posters on the walls of various Jazz artists and big bands. For example, there's a poster of Chick Webb's band with Ella. There's a poster of Benny Goodman. There is also one of Duke and his big band and one of Dizzy. But there is one poster of Charlie James and his big band at the Savoy, cica 1938. I never heard of Charlie James, nor can I find anything out about him. I asked the owner/manager if he was real. He said he bought the posters online and he believes he's a real person, but wasn't 100% sure. Does the name Charlie James ring a bell for anyone here?

  11. All of the above are incorrect. The correct answer is Doin' Alright. I guess I wasn't the only one that noticed the wrong choices.
  12. I got question 7 and 9 wrong. For some reason question 5 seemed to have all the wrong answers.
  13. My score was 10 out of 12.

  15. Well I sent the person an email and if I do get the show and it is unrelased Wes, I wonder if I could seed it on Dime for all to grab?
  16. I did, and he will send it to me. He claims it is a lost Riverside date that got canned. If true, it should still have made it into the Riverside box I would think.
  17. Someone had contacted me regarding some rare music I have and if I would like to make a trade. He claims to have an unreleased Wes session from 2/16/1960 from Bell Sound Studios. I could not find any info on this date. At this time Wes was still on Riverside. I have the Riverside box, but handy at the moment, but I don't recall this date. Anyone know this date or what this session could be?
  18. So what's the total number of band people? I can think of only 2 others.
  19. Just came across a new nickname for a jazz artist. I was listening to a live performance of "Buck Eye Key". Any guesses who went by that name?
  20. Any idea what a box of these cards are worth? It has to be in the thousands I would guess.

  23. Do you have a favorite standard that when you play it, you tear it up? When I use to play, I could play my ass off when doing "The Shadows of Smile" and "On Green Dolphin Street". List your's.
  24. The Autobiography of Horace Silver is due out in March of 2006. It's a bit early, but you can pre order Horace Silver's book. Book
  25. Who was the first saxophonist to go without a piano player? I thought it was it Sonny Rollins. But I've recently heard a Gerry Mulligian recording from the early 1950's minus a piano player. Any thoughts on this?
