  1. Anyone know if this Stanley Turrentine session has a future release data as an RVG? It is the only Blue Note session of his I am still hunting down. I've seen it on ebay for $28. I can wait, the days of paying high prices for one CD is out of my system.
  2. I believe Wes would sell. Almost all his recordings are still in print.
  3. Yes they did in the early years. Wes then went out on his own. But this album, "Almost Forgotten" contains a track from an LP which they did for Columbia. They never signed with that label. I wonder if the album could be released, since it was recorded by a label they weren't signed to?
  4. There have been many artists that have a album with strings. Bird, Wes Montgomery, Stanley Turrentine and so many others. Is this an attempt to grab a different audience or a seirous attempt to highlight the artists in a different light?
  5. I believe it was Mel Gibson using a pseudonym.
  6. I've made copies of my mosaics and then I put the originals back in their boxes and up in a closet where they're safe from even the harmful rays of the sun.
  7. I am voting for Grant Green.
  8. Aren't the 4 horse men on our side? At least I thought so. I bet we'll never hear from this user again.
  9. Been spining this CD all day. They are all smoking. Worth getting.
  10. Maybe they're the real thing. Check your foreheads for the 666 sign.
  11. I thought memeber 666 would have been Mel Gibson.
  12. Shit! Opps, is there still time to cleanse my soul?
  13. Either you're a member or a guest. What is an anonymous member? I see from time to time anonymous members in different forums.
  14. 1) Is anyone a member of this? 2) How does the trial period work? What are you allowed to try out? 3) Can you download as much as you like, unlike emusic? I was a member of emusic for 3 months. After downloading stuff, I usually went out and bought the CD's. I haven't been much of a fan of mp3's or downloading. I thought I would try this service out.
  15. Yeah, I've tried to see him now 3 times, and he didn't make it all 3 times. I was told it is his health.
  16. JACKY McLEAN SEXTET with Bobby Hutcherson and GRACHAN MONCUR III. At the Iridium in NYC. May 25 - May 30, 2004.
  17. Thanks, I just ordered it. As long as I can hear all the musicians play, it's worth buying.
  18. I was about to order this CD, until I read the reviews posted on the Blue Note site. Some say the sound is so bad that the music should have never been released. Has anyone here bought it? If so, how is the sound?
  19. It is from Mosaic records.
  20. The sound on this RVG is so much better then the rare grooves from the mid 1990's. I believe the masters were still lost. Maybe technology has increased and this helped in enhancing the sound.
  21. date 3 27, 1965 Wes Gituar Harlod Mabern Piano Arthur Harper Bass Jimmy Lovelace Drums Johnny Griffin Tenor or 'Round Midnight.
  22. thanks
  23. Does anyone know of a site would list all the sessions recorded for this label? I know Argo recorded other music other then jazz, but what few albums I 've found from this label all swing.
